    Wink Awesome Songs From God-Awful Anime

    Okay. In this thread, name a song that you actually like from an anime that you hate. Don't forget to state why!

    For me, it's "Mask" from Bakuretsu Hunters.
    This song is hella sexy.
    The anime, in sharp contrast, isn't. In fact, it may be among the worst anime series I have seen in their entirety. The last episode left me saying "WHAT THE ****?!" and not in a good way like the final episode of Excel Saga.

    You'll never get me to watch this anime, but I heard this song once and it got stuck in my head. I had tuned into Cartoon Network to watch a different show but Inuyasha was ending and this song was playing in the credits. -.-;

    Regarding Yellowedge's comment... I'm an old enough fan that I also remember Sorcerer Hunters. The original manga was a decent mix of fanservice, comedy, and (eventually) drama. The modest number of episodes of the TV version that I saw were a weaksauce version, and with slow pacing to boot.

    But if you are looking for a late '90s show that was a trainwreck with good music, then consider the Lodoss War TV series. It was less compressed than the Lodoss OAV series, but after about nine half decent episodes, the show shifted focus to a less interesting group of heroes. Still, it had the song "Sea of Miracles," which was awesome.

    Well, while I don't hate Zetman, that show was pretty disappointing. It was trying to squeeze about 17 manga volumes into 13 episodes. (as opposed to the standard "episode per chapter" thing done by a lot of manga adaptations) Because of this, they had to drop entire arcs and parts deemed too offensive. The whole "Super Mansion Rape Party" thing was cut apart for TV and they didn't even leave in the part about Kouga getting severely injured in the aforementioned mansion. Not to mention that a lot of stuff was done out of order and characters aged pretty rapidly from episode to episode so they could fit all of the info into this shoestring budget cartoon. Now, if it actually covered the manga correctly, or at least had as many episodes as Gantz, I wouldn't mind it so much. I guess the best part of this anime is the fact that it introduced me to the manga.

    Anyway, I like the opening song. The first 30 seconds and the last minute of it, at least.

    The ending to Gasaraki. It was one tv year's ago in a little anime block. I tried to watch it, however it bored me to tears. It was like watching Patlabor 2 movie again, or Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence.
    However there was something on right after it I wanted to watch, so I was often getting the ending theme and enjoyed it.

    Also Rurouni Kenshin, while its not bad I watched the first episode said "I should watch this." 5 years later I still have not watched it. Ill also rub people the wrong as-well and use the "wrong" version of the opening. Because I do actually like it.

    IMHO, the best song in Kenshin TV was "Tactics" by The Yellow Monkey. Here's my thoughts on the series:

    * It starts with 26 pretty good episodes, but about 6 or 8 of them are blatant filler.
    * The entire Kyoto arc is manga-accurate and easily the high point of the series. Worth seeing.
    * Everything after that in the TV series... only happened in someone's fevered imagination.

    There was a short OAV series about the title character's past -- it was too serious but at least it was watchable. There was never a theatrical movie, and there was never a two-episode OAV that tried to summarize the final manga arc and add a needlessly bleak conclusion.
