Me, I usually go with "rust," if I have steel, or the ever so popular "tar & grime" if it's alloy.

In the '70's , AMC's were a quirky collection of parts from the Big 3 automakers
bodged together as some-sort of economy option to Ford, GM or Chrysler. (?)
Jeep was also an AMC product.

AMC, the properly designed and assembled american automobile.

That's why it didn't sell so well.

Borgward, a car of somewhat higher quality and better performance than BMW & Benz of the same era:

P100, about the size and shape of a Mercedes Benz.

Isabella. Light weight, large trunk, gets good mileage (~34 MPG)

Hansa. Designed while the team was ... um ... experimenting... with things... acids and bases and suchlike.

1955-58 Soviet Pobeda, the very first SUV, as we know them today: monocoque structure with AWD, very real off-raod capabilities. Because the soviets didn't think roads were necessary for the people.

Looks nice, but I don't like anything I couldn't use if I somehow acquired it.

That's more like it. That thing can go more places than just some circular track. Hell, it don't even need a track.

    Speaking of Off-roading.....
1984 Volkswagen Quantum GL5 wagon (Santana, Passat elsewhere)
    2.2l inline 5. Essentially, a rebadged Audi 4000.
I could tell you some stories.

My car. Except that mine had a roof-rack and different wheels. Loved that car.

    Lancer: My wet-dream car =p
