What books are you currently reading/have read, or which ones do you think are good?

I'm currently reading Royal Assassin by Robbin Hobb, and plan to read Destiny of the Damned by Ian Irvine when it comes out later this month.

Fan fiction of what?

Ok fan fiction is probably a bad word for I guess. One could say that he is writing a book, but he doubts it will ever get published. So he is writing just for the sake of writing I guess ^_^;;

Actually I ment to ask a question on here earlier. Does anyone know where to find the light novel series of Baccano!? Iv'e looked everywhere online only to find out the names of the novels, but not where to find them, if anyone knows where they are (translated I hope) that would be great!

Well, always notable is my favourite book, Lolita (10/10) by Vladimir Nabokov, which I'd gladly recommend to anyone here or anywhere with a good grasp on the English language. I tend to pick it up every once in a while for a refresher, or just to look up random passages. So I'm pretty much always "currently reading" it. :P

Then there's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (8/10) by James Joyce, that I'm reading for my English class, and personally I don't find it very enjoyable. I mean, his writing is absolutely ingenious, I really can't get over his mastery of the art of storytelling, but...I think it's just this particular book, it really doesn't appeal to me. I'm sure it would to others, but to me, eh.

Currently halfway between god is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything (9.7/10) by Christopher Hitchens, and it's hilariously controversial so far. The man makes good points, it's hard to argue. Not that I'm inclined to...

I'm reading Star Wars X-Wing - The Krytos Trap It sucks for me because I read X-Wing Rogue Squadron the first in the series and then went to Krytos Trap witch is the third book (How did they take Coruscant (Yes I know how to spell Coruscant) How did Corran supposedly die and why can't I find the second book at Barns & Noble where I got 1 & 3?)

I never did read Lolita... i think i ruled it as a crepy sounding book, but wih my memory i could be wrong.

And i will have to look up this "god is not great' book, as it sounds like something that needs to be on my bookshelf.

And since we are nwo talking recomendations, I would recomend Jasper FForde's "Thursday Next" series to anyone who likes to read. The first book is "The Eyre Affair" and the Eyre refers to Jane Eyre of Bronte fame; Thursday Next is a literacy detective, who protects books from those who would do them harm. She also walks INTO books to solve crimes from the inside out; as you can guess, Ms. Eyre has gotten into a bit of trouble in the first book. It's hilarius and incredibly witty.

and for those of you still in American school system, i would recomend "Lies my teacher told me: everything your american history textbook got wrong" by James Loewen. I actualy was reading it in high school, and took it with me to read in my study period...the one run by my history teacher lol. He had quie a few things to say about THAT lol. Many of the things covered in this book are more commonly known now than they were the book was publised, but still a good read to make sure you're not brainwashed by the government :)

Yay! Waiting For Godot is definitely one of my top three favourite pieces of writing, good on you. And you can't go wrong with Shakespeare, of course.
