Anyway, he helps her escape from the castle in which she is confined and after that they get into all sorts of adventures with each other and such.

I think he's about sixty, which is extremely young to be a captain, but nonetheless, he is a captain, and has a Bankai. Even though he's shorter than Hinamori... Pfft!
