yea well we do that too we have K??ios (christmas eve in english but the meaning is not the same) and Kal?dos (yep, Christmas xD ) and on K??ios all the family gathers and we eat twelve dishes, for every month and with a symbol (ex. honey is strength[no meat ofcourse]) and on Christmas day we eat as much as you can and have fun :D

Cool, we don't have any specific "rules" or traditions as such. Or not any that I know of but we eat and feast with the family on the 24th and on 25th just chill and visit other relatives, cemetary, but mainly also spent with the family

yea, we have another day for cemeteries, called V?lin?s (no possible english translation, nothing like that exists elsewhere) it takes part on the 2nd of November, right after all saints day xD It comes from the pagan times, but its a nice custom. We light candles on all the graves (even if theyre not our relatives' but dont have a candle) to "warm the souls of the dead for the winter"

Thats a nice tradition. We in Finland keep realitive good care and like to go for walks in the cemetaries. Don't know how people feelabout cemetaries in other countries..

In the US... cemetaries aren't really the type of place that you'd go to have a picnic or anything. They're kind of forbidding sometimes with their wrought iron fences and the knowledge that dead people are buried there. To be honest, I don't like cemetaries.

I've always thought that a cemetery was a serene sort of place, and it can be very interesting if you know its history and some of the people buried there. I don't get chills or anything in cemeteries, but it can feel a little foreboding, especially when a storm comes out of nowhere when you step on the property...Oh, good times.

heh, talking about creepy, in Lithuania there is this ancient pagan sacred grove of sorts called Romuva (litteraly "The serene place") let me tell you weird **** happens there. There used to be excursions there but they got canceled after one time, when there came a storm and an excursion was taking place. There were many people, most of them from Western Europe, some from Lithuania. When they reached the center of the grove it started raining heavily and thunder with lightning started going like mad. Everybody ran for cover under the trees. Then a lightning hit two trees at once and basically cut them down. Four people were crushed. All four German. Creepy if you remember Lithuanian history. At the time of the crusade in Lithuania, we were pagans and our main enemy was... The German order of crusaders... coincidence?

They were just dumb ****s to run under trees in a lightning storm, thats all.
I think the cemeteries are nice and calm. So I like just walking in a cemetery. We don't really ignore and try stay away from cemeteries...

they are great places to mess with your friends haha I set of some fire crackers by a grave were a friend was visiting at night HAHAHAHAHAHA that was soooo funny we just had to stop there it was his fault it happened hehehe

Well its easy to know that no living dead would come out of their graves in Finland, there are so few people that you find to eat, and also the weather isn't the best...
