It's mostly people who don't wear the strap properly and treat it like they're actually bowling, or throwing something.

I don't even play with a strap and I have not even let it slip the slightest bit, cause I'm careful

I got a Wii and the closest thing to a casualty would be my sister punching a speaker because she wasn't paying any attention to where she was. The speaker was definitely stronger so her finger turned out black and blue, but yet we all laughed about it.

Owning a wii my self I find it hard to believe that people can mess up the strap and end up causing things to be broken. Granted though I did hit someone behind me playing wii golf but that was their own fault for standing so close to me.

My work just got one for the break room. So far one guy has whacked his hand on a chair while playing tennis, and one almost crashed into the TV when we followed through too enthusiastically while bowling.
