Green is my favorite color (high five, mawelli!)

it represents much to me. being irish, green has always been a color of good luck for me. growing up, reading "green lantern" comic books was the only thing i had in common with my dad, so it represented a filial bond, as well as in the comics "one who had no fear." as i grew older, i became addicted to "romance of the three kingdoms" where the color green represents Shu, the kingdom of Honor and Virture. Then of course there is the connection to nature. it's a hands down fav for me.


next would be purple. it represents royalty, with a sinister twist. it represents intelligence, cunning, but also being cold and calculating. it is comforting, homly, peaceful, but underneath the surface there are claws. it is a mask, it is deception, and it is home.

thirdly, pink. it is my girly side, my femininist self. it's happiness with no strings, joy with no hidden flaws. it reprsents memory, to never forget, especially not breast exams or my mothers fight with breast cancer.

Good eye! yes, i am a mongrel; 25% irish, 50% italian, and 25% german. all four of my immediate grandparents came off the boat to come to america, making my parents the first generation born here in the states. so while my last name is Italain and i am more italian then irish, i grew up with all my mother's irish relatives. i always considered myself more irish growing up, and as above, i tend to call myself irish more than i will call myself italian. i know more about my italian side now, but i know next to nothing about my german side.

My last name, Deminico, is Italian. i'm told if you go to sicily and northern italy, there are several statues made by our great ancestor, with the DeMinico name on them. my family is VERY serious about keeping track of our roots, and we can trace our lineage back 16 generations in detail, 22 generations if you don't mind unverifiable data.

i'm not sure if you could access it, but we have a small sampling of our family tree online here, including a picture of me and all of my immediate family.

Woaah thats pretty cool. My family tree can be traced all the way to the start of my family. Somewhere to around 15th century ^^ And the cool thing about it is that I'm the first one to have the name Miika in the whole of our family tree :D

a deep Forest Green: Growth, Patience, my favorite color.

a nice dark Royal Purple: Intelligence, Stability, great complement to the above.

Silver: Adaptability, worth, and it makes a good border shade for the above.
