he did some good, and yes I do tend to remind people that, not to mention that anyone would have voted for him but honestly, there'd be no one left if you go your way, something I'd agree with if it weren't for teh fact that we disagree on general principle, as in the "why" honestly you're probably the most one-sided thinker I know; I for one don't tolerate intolerence however everyone is entitled to thier own opinions as much as it pains me to say this there's no right or wrong, that is to say that if you remove injustice from the world you leave justice which is its own form of injustice, the only winning move is not to play in this case.

see, i disagree. i have no problem with people havign thier own opinions, but i draw the line when thier opinions turn into action. If someone joins the KKK and kills 20 black men for existing, i'm not going to be feel a bit of remorse taking out the bastard. likewise, i don't have any sympathy for those religious nut jobs who preach "jesus loves everyone except the gays" and treat us like we're a disease. I've attented too many nights of rememberance, have buried too many friends, to know preaching agaisnt hate cannot be allowed. as long as they exist, we are made targets of attacks, made martyes to their hate. I will never forgive those who hate us for existening, like we're sub human. You can stand there and be all high andm ighty, preach how hate begets hate, and two wrongs dont' make a right, but have you ever had a ****ing knife to your throat? have you ever been beaten in public while onlookers laugh? turning the other check only gets you slapped harder. i hate those bigots for a reason; they have beaten me, my friends, and my community. we didn't start this war, but i'll be damned if i let myself be a casualty of it.

sorry for my little outburst... this matter has been a point of contention between me and abyss for a while.


if it wasn't too blatant in my rant, i have been beaten for being something other than straight. I've had a knife pulled on me more times than I care to remember. I have washed the blood off of my roommates when they came home from parties, suffering another attack. And i've been to far, far, too many nights of rememberance for those who died in such attacks.

Acutecat and i don't share the same views, but i respect his right to those views. It's when those views are taught as hate, when those feelings become violent actions, that i object. But by that point, objecting is futile, isn't it? I'm not perfect, and if i ever claimed to be so i lied. Maybe it's wrong of me to wish ill on conservatives, but i've become too jaded to see another alternative, to think this violence can be ended with words. I've seen too much hate to think it will go away on it's own. Maybe people here will think less of me for that, but that's how i feel.

Is it really so much to ask to exist in peace?

I certainly have not seen the same things odessa has seen but you need to remeber violence begets violence and when your end goal is non-violence, violence doesn't work. Martin Luther king ended violence with non-violence and brought about an area of racial peace

however

this area is a little different no matter what happens there will always be some people who consider what odessa does is wrong (like myself)

what they do about that is the question

my dream is a world in which people take up the podium and battle with words and logical arguements not rocks knives and things that kill, a world in which intellect and whit are infront of physchical means of "persuasion".

i've considered moving abroad, to be honest. currently, i'm in a legal battle with the stupid government over whether i exist or not. see, if i don't exist, i can't get a passport. clever move, uncle sam.

if i ever am allowed to get out of this country, i likely would. the only things to hold me back are 1) my inability to learn new languanges (thank you, brain damage) and 2) my family lives in the USA. but to quite frank, i don't care THAT much for my family. i've always been the black sheep here. i get along with my mother and brother at times, but it's a rare thing.

i've heard many a good thing of that area; denmark, sweden, finland, etc. kinda vague i guess, but i hear it's a more tolerable climate for such things. who knows? maybe i will. i've moved for lesser reasons lol.

see, i've tried the whole change thing. i've written protest letters. i've marched on washington. i've met with senators, and have chatted with Mrs. Clinton talking about change. and what has it done? what change has occured? this nation continues to disgust me with it's policies, it's leaders, the values... i hate it all. i tried to leave years ago, and if not for the problems with my birth certificate ( again, i apparently don't exist) i would have. i had a job and apartment lined up in japan; i was going to teach english there to japanese students. but my passport was denied, and i still havne't been able to get one.

only if you respond to hate with more hate, there is a moral high ground: that's not to say that you shouldn't press charges on people or defend your life if necessary but as I've said, it's impossible for humans to escape their violent natures; we're only going to doom ourselves
