Also known as Single's Awareness day, also known as Valentine's Day.

I hate this holiday. it mocks me, year after year. I have not once - NOT ONCE - have been in a relationship on valentine's day. (not including friends with benefits cough)

I always get depressed about this. Well, more depressed. As my therapsit knows, my "sad mood" goes from Thanksgiving (Late November here in the states) to Valentine's day ( mid february here). The constant holidays seem reminder of 'hey, your life sucks. Bitch." Understandably, this hurts my self esteem, my identity, my ego, and makes a whole nasty depression loop...cycle....thing.

Shut up.

But Valentine's day! Arg. it's the worst. a holiday dedicated to making single people feel more alone than they already feel. a day to say "hey, guess whose not getting laid tonight again?" I've been tempted to one night stand on valentine's day, but i'm usually too damned depressed for it.

And here's the kicker, the salt in the wound: every february, my parents, as well as my sister and her husband, go on this florida vacation thing to celebrate thier "love." Good for them, but it leaves me even more alone, as i dont' even have my family to bitch too. And usually, my friends all have dates. Even my little brother has managed to find love with his girlfriend of 4 years now. Like i said...single's awareness day.

So, anyone else hate this day, am i bitter old crone on this one?

nothing good has ever happened to me on valentines i have never had a date for it and when i'm walking around and see everyone with couples i get so jealous, angry then depressed. It's one of the few times i ever feel really sad and lonely

and two valentines ago i was dumped on valentines day of all the days to be dumped i got dumped on the day made to celebrate love.
it just sucks

it does change; only my body snaps back to near awake levels before it can get to the lower stages; so i would cycle between awake and before REM usually, though i sometimes do hit REM sleep. just not often.
