Well yes. They are the frankly obvious exception; the anime versions came first. However, the manga versions for both NGE and FLCL are turning out REALLY GOOD. The NGE one could put yet another compelling twist on the ending with the next volume. And the FLCL one... well, I just love Hajime Ueda as an artist to start with, but I really do love it for it's own (much darker) take on the story. Also, it was the first version of FLCL I ever experienced (and one of my first manga ever), so it has a special place in my heart.

it was translated, but i didnt have the time to read it, and i no longer have the link to it. its a pitty, i really like how the artist makes the exspressions on the characters, ill try to show you a picture of Kirae crying, it looks very emotional and cute.
its one of those comics you read to have afew laughs, see some boobs, and watch awkward moments.
