and Corn is epic.

But for me My Heart Will Go On is all about what AMV Hell is. It's funny, it's clever, it's bizarre, it's mind-bending, and I will never, never hear that song again without thinking of that clip.

Gotta vote corn, although bleeping osaka is an amv hell icon. NGE clips was epic too, but corn is just... epic.
Lucky star one was really good, but it's just not close enough to being an amv-hell symbol as bleeping osaka and corn.

I think it's rather appropriate that all 4 final clips were from different Hells respectively. Each one not only represents a seperate era of the Hell dynasty (except 2 and /0, but then... well...), but also display all the qualities of great amvs. Ellen Feiss draws you in, and establishes itself as a fixture of the franchise (try to imagine Hell 3 without the interludes); Titanic is deceptively simple, yet brilliant in its conception and execution; Corn is the epitome of random weirdness; and Lucky Note is an absolute feat of editting prowess. Any of these clips could rightfully sit on the AMV throne as the greatest Hell clip of all time.

Personally, I gotta give it up for Lucky Note.

I almost, almost couldn't bring myself to vote in this round.

But then I did. ;D Neglecting to vote for Osaka, Corn or Lucky Note was a poor choice, I admit. Osaka became THE defining moment of the AMV Hell series; Corn was one of the most memorable and quotable clips of them all (if not the most); and Lucky Note was just terribly amusing, while being edited superbly enough to rank among the greats. But, simply put, Titanic had the right combination of a delightfully simple concept, a hilarious juxtaposition of audio and video, and editing that, although not challenging in the least, could not possibly have been better executed. Above all, even the mere mention of this clip never, ever fails to put a smile on my face.

I don't think I could be more pleased with these four in the final-finals. Good job, fellow Hellmates. :)

Bear with me for a moment...

Pretend there were 3 videos, A B and C. Video A and B are each very popular, but appeal to a similar audience, so they steal votes from the same subset of voters. Video C appeals to a minority of voters. If A, B, and C are all brought to vote in 1 pool, A and B might each get 30% of the vote while C gets 40%. However, if A vs C or B vs C were to take place, then the A/B enjoying crowd weren't divided, and C would maintain a 40% share of the votes with A or B winning with 60%, give or take.

So, if you don't like the winning video, take some solace in the fact that a battle royal style tournament is inherently flawed, and the outcome means practically nothing, from a mathematical standpoint.

Still, personally, I'm quite pleased with the result. (Dunno if I'd necessarily call the winner video my favorite one, but I do thoroughly enjoy it).

I had no idea my video was even in the running, much less that it won. I'm really thankful! Thankful that people appreciate hard work and a good dumb joke video with effort. I have to say that the other videos in the finals were two of my favorites (well... not Corn :D)

I think, personally, my favorite video from the AMV Hells has to be "I will always love you" from DBZ... the timing is just perfect.

Since I have the mic, here's my other two joke AMVs that nobody ever watches... I thought for sure the Rock Lee one would make it. :P
