Aww, how about posting the translation, then? Don't make us go to Babelfish...
Speaking of which, kinda funny--I was watching Galaxy Angel AA, and they were looking at a paper written on in English. It read like a Babelfish translation with big words squeezed in, but in essence it said, "This is just text for the sake of being text. It will serve the purpose. Some day this show may play overseas and in countries that speak English they will have a good laugh."

Translation:
Nothing is sacred
A long time ago, in the forgotten depths of the year 2004, two inhabitants of a weird land known as the United States had an Idea, that was as simple as it was brilliant. Without putting much thought into it, they started putting that very Idea into life, blissfully unaware of the consequences of their actions. Thus started hell on Earth. The world of anime will never be the same ever again...
Probably every anime fan has seen at least one AMV (Anime Music Video) ? a fan made video, combining anime footage with more or less known music titles. This type of creativity has been around for quite some time already, so it?s rather difficult to come up with something completely new and original. With that in mind, it is kind of funny that a certain - almost legendary at this point ? AMV series has been born sort of by accident.
In the aforementioned year 2004, Brian ?SSGWNBTD? Moore (SSGWNBTD stands for Some Stupid Guy With Nothing Better To Do) has created a couple of short, funny clips purely for his own amusement. He never intended to show them to a broader audience mainly because of their miserable length. He did, however, send them to his friend and editor as a small curiosity. Alan ?Zarxrax? Clontz, as soon as he managed to stop laughing after the short show, thought it would be a pity to leave such great material to waste. So he made SSGWNBTD an offer he couldn?t refuse: "why don't we make an AMV that is just made up of short clips like these?" The idea fell on fertile grounds. Both immediately started working on it. Production went full speed ahead, neither inspiration nor enthusiasm were lacking. Not long after that, on the 28th of May 2004, the world has for the first time seen
The work, which becomes a new genre itself
meaning, of course, the legendary AMV Hell. Most of the readers now probably have a huge question mark hanging right next to their heads. Let me quickly explain then. AMV Hell consists of rather short, usually around 30 seconds long, humorous AMV clips, making fun of literally everything and everyone. As far as sound goes, the creators used anything they could get their hands on ? starting with music, through movie quotes and commercials to stand-up comedy. Hence the title, referencing a popular anime convention event Anime Hell, where random anime scenes, educational movies, commercials and the like are shown.
So, on the glorious day of it?s debut, AMV Hell, along with it?s hidden in the shadows, politically incorrect bastard child, AMV Hell 2: Son of AMV Hell, created quite a stir. The combination of short, hilarious clips, mercilessly mocking everything, be it Evangelion, Berserk or Dragonball, caused a great success for the creators, exceeding even their wildest dreams. The two short, roughly five minutes long each, videos conquered the hearts of audiences worldwide and won awards on every single convention they were viewed on. The popularity of the Hells surpassed even the wildest dreams of their creators. Months passed, yet the commotion never settled down. It became clear that people wanted more. MUCH more.
Careful with the jokes
At the end of AMV Hell 2 there is info of AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture coming soon. Unluckily for SSGWNBTD and Zarxrax, very few people were aware that this was, in fact, a joke. Most people thought it was as real as it can get. Pushed against a wall by the fans and their own joke, the creators knew what had to be done. They had to - and wanted to ? face the consequences of their actions. Thus work on two new installments of the series began. This time around though, they were not alone. A total of around 60 people contributed to the new project. The fans had to wait almost a whole year for the effects of this collaboration. But it was totally worth it. On the 25th of September 2005, during Anime Weekend Atlanta, two separate movies with a combined length of almost 2 hours (!) had their premiere.
The first of the two, AMV Hell 3, faithfully follows the footsteps of the first installment, making fun of everything in it?s way, sparing no one, not even the cult classics. After all, nothing is sacred. The film could use a warning that watching this may cause severe belly muscle pains due to almost lethal amounts of laughter. In short, great fun guaranteed. Entertainment aside, the third installment in the series also carries some great ?educational values?. From this video people can finally find out what caused the infamous Titanic to sink, who started the II World War and where Azumanga really comes from. I warn you, the revelations may be shocking to some.
On the very same day, during nighttime, in a separate room, in a viewing for adult audiences only, AMV Hell 0 also had its premiere. How come? The answer to this question is easily found in the lengthy disclaimers and warnings at the beginning of the movie. There we can read that ?this stuff is so bad we never should have even made it? and ?any animated girls depicted in this program are over the age of 18 even if they don?t look like it?. Oh, and ?for the love of God, GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!?. In short, AMV Hell 0 is filled with tasteless hentai, hektolitres of blood, obscenities and every single deviation known to mankind. Another words, 0 contains everything that is generally considered to be offensive and not eligible for public viewing. At the same time, this Hell is also hilarious, which most viewers shamefully agree with. Arguably the most well known AMV Hell clip comes from this very movie. I won?t go into the details, but aside from making the series even more popular (as if it needed it at this point), it also contributed to the popularity of corn on the Internet. Don?t ask me why. Sometimes you are better off not knowing.
Short break
AMV Hell 3 & 0 turned out to be huge successes and deservedly so. Alan ?Zarxrax? Clontz and Brian ?SSGWNBTD? Moore then decided to finally take a well earned break. After all, the creation and coordination of a 2 hour long project ? be it for fun or not ? requires a lot of time and effort. So, as a means of relaxation, they created... another AMV Hell, subtitled Championship Edition this time around. This part is a bit different from the previous ones mainly because Alan and Brian were not the main contributors. This video was created in a contest managed by them. The judges carefully selected a song for each and every round. The contestants were then faced with a challenge of creating the funniest clip to the specified song. Each round?s winner video was then added to the final compilation, along with some other notable entries. Because of this formula some of the songs are featured in the Championship Edition more than once. However, this doesn?t change the fact that AMV Hell CE is well worth checking out, as it still filled with the great humor we?ve all grown to love. One more thing is worth noting, and that is the premiere date of the Championship Edition. This AMV has been shown for the first time on the dark and evil day of 6th of June 2006 (6-6-6). Coincidence? I think not!
Go out with a bang
One would think that after such a long series the fans would finally be satisfied. Well, think again. It was still not enough. Initially unconvinced Zarxrax finally succumbed to SSGWNBTD?s constant nagging and agreed to take part in a continuation of the series. There was one condition: to go out with a bang. Thus AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture II: AMV Hell 4: The Last One was born. The film ? although created by entirely different people than it?s predecessor ? beat AMV Hell 3 both in length (almost one and a half hours) and in the number of submissions, counting in at well over a thousand. After careful and thorough selection, ?only? 250 remained. The best of the best. Among the chosen few, some true diamonds can be found, including ones that reveal the true meaning of Death Note?s L?s name or the suspiciously uncanny resemblance of that very anime series to Lucky Star. So, one can say that part 4 is both a worthy successor to it?s predecessor and a great crowning achievement for the series. No fan will be disappointed after watching this.
After releasing their final work, Alan ?Zarxrax? Clontz officially announced that he?s done with his hellish adventures. Aside from being tired with the ?franchise? and wanting to finally do something else, the main reason for his resignation was the feeling that it?s just not the same anymore. A couple years back, when creating Hells 3 & 0, it was all fun with good friends. By the time Hell 4 was being created most of those previously involved either quit making AMVs or had no interest in taking part in the project. Most of the clips came from people completely unknown to Zarxrax. Fun stopped being so fun and started feeling more and more like work. With that in mind it?s easy to understand his decision. In order not to end with this slightly sad note, Alan is still out there making some rather interesting AMVs. If you?re interested, just type Zarxrax into any web search engine. You?ll find them in no time.
Every hero can divide by 0
Just a moment earlier I wrote that AMV Hell 4 was the last installment of the series. In a sense, that is true. In 2008 AMV Hell Divided By 0 did have its premiere, but it was directed solely by Brian ?SSGWNBTD? Moore. Zarxrax did not get involved. Anyway, by simply looking at the title one can clearly tell which of the previous Hells is Divided By 0 a successor to. Honestly, I?m not even sure if I should be writing about this. The reason for that is plain as day ? Hell /0 is even worse than it?s predecessor. Much worse. Impossible? Yeah, I thought so too. This AMV is so bad it should be called the blight on mankind and a reason why we can?t have good things. While watching this, you will squirm uncomfortably in disgust. Which is good, since it means your psyche is not entirely twisted yet. Plus, Divided By 0 was meant to be the most vile, blasphemous and offensive work in the history of mankind. That goal was clearly met. Now the only thing left is to figure out is how do I get those disturbing images out of my head. Really, after seeing Hell /0 I found out in a bad way that some things simply cannot be unseen. Those with fragile minds ? stay far away from this abomination.
Legacy
Thus ends the story of the series. There is no sign of there being a follow-up, but as far as I?m concerned, it?s for the best. The Hells gradually earned their legendary status throughout the years and it would a pity to ruin that reputation with one botched attempt at a worthy continuation. This doesn?t mean, however, the end of such movies in general. Oh, no. Far from it. The success of the Hells caused a new AMV genre to be born ? and it is alive and well. New videos pop up from time to time, including such titles as Anime Remix, AMV Blitz or Hell? Fairy. Be careful though ? not all of them are worth watching, as opposed to the AMV Hell series, which is a must see for all those who love to have a good laugh now and then.
Sidebar:
Polish Hell
Following the popularity of AMV Hell, many similar videos started popping up, including ones in languages different than English. Poles also have a freshly released representative in the genre - on 21st of October 2008 "Why So Serious? MEP" (MEP Stands for Multi-Editor Project) had it's premiere. The MEP was created by 12 polish editors (which is quite a lot by polish standards) under the careful eye of one of the fames of the polish AMV community - Arczi. Together they edited a total of 80 clips, 65 of which made it into the final, around 10 minutes long, compilation. Since "Poles speak not Anserine but a tongue of their own."*, the project couldn't go without using many polish songs and quotes from cult movies, such as "Chlopaki nie placza" ("Big boys don't cry") and "Kiler". The whole thing is loaded with great humor so it's a pleasure to watch, but it ends a bit too fast. However, if Arczi's words on the amv.com.pl forums are to be trusted, we can expect a second part. Hopefully it'll be as good as the first one.
*famous quote from Mikolaj Rej, a 16th century Renaissance writer/poet; he's considered to be one of the fathers of truly polish literature (previously everything was written in latin).
