Well hello hmm first post woo hoo, Well I seldom do anime CG's anymore the damn wacom pen has seen better days and its too time consuming. This is something i did awhile ago its still considerd unfinished but ill just post it anyways for fun and its not hard on the eyes.

What is this?, For those of you who finished gilgamesh at the end of the credits on the last episode theirs a small clip of Kiyoko stabbing that little girl with a tuneing fork. I love to play the piano and thought it was awsome, I wanted to use the video frame as the wallpaper but the resolution was unsutible in that aspect so I just redrew it.
I also have linework done on Dokuro- chan from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro- chan that needs to be colored and shaded in when i get off my lazy ass and give my PC some love, Ill post the linework if anyones intrested I guess you could whip the crayons out and color it in LOL.

hmm didnt think a clip shown at the end of credits is much of a spoiler let alone any advancement to a storyline, Also saying "That girl " doesnt leave you with much. Your welcome tho

Also, if you're led into it with the clause "for those of you who finished Gilgamesh at the end of the credits on the last episode" it's pretty obvious that what's going to follow is a plot spoiler. I mean, what were you expecting, abyssion? The lottery numbers? :p

I've actually watched a few episodes of Gilgamesh, therefore I'm acquainted with how the show works and it's a logical stop to reach the conclusion that the person dies: Einstein called such leaps natural scientific assumptions. You should quit while you're ahead: I'm way smarter than you

I'm a very keen Gunslinger Girl fan, and one piece of fanart that I keep going back to is this delightful 'age differential' image of one of the central heroines of the series, the combat-cyborg Henrietta.
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/1778/1355c325047b0550b0e0ae4j.jpg
You might need to already have some knowledge of Gunslinger Girl to fully appreciate this image, because there's a wistful, bittersweet quality to it that really only comes across when you understand the character's history. When seeing Henrietta as she is now (the central figure), we appreciate how fortunate she's really been to get a second chance at life and be sunny and well adjusted - on the right we're seeing her before a home invader hacked her to pieces with a hatchet - and on the left we're seeing her mature into a fine, well-adjusted young woman... only that'll never happen, because her cybernetic body will wear out long before then. We're happy for Henrietta, but ironically a picture like this only strengthens the walls trapping her in her garden.

Well someone has a rather large E-penis lol. you can assume all you want but you should finish the series before you claim that your smarter than someone else. Making Natural assumptions doesnt count for much in the IQ department.

that's a natural but in this case incorrect assumption, actually making natural assumptions is huge in the IQ department, it's where most of our scientific leaps come from. If you chose you can can look at it like this: you don't know me that well yet you've already made a bunch of assumptions all of which are natural conclusions drawn from what I've said and none of which really work towards your detriment; in the interest of irony I feel I must point out that my first comment was a joke and when you staunchly argued against it I just ran with.

Say what you like about Mari as a character, but you can't deny that she's really re-energised EVA fanart. The release of Rebuild 2.0 tapped a wellspring of activity that's continuing to throw up fresh surprises today, from the cute:

I think that it's the right decision for Evangelion as a whole. I wouldn't want to go to the cinema for the sake of a butchered cut of a television series that I've already seen (Gainax already tried that with Death and Rebirth). The series will always be there on my shelf, and I can watch it any time. Rebuild may be 'shallower' - I can't really comment on that specifically as I haven't seen the full film - but it infuses some variety to keep me interested with novelty.
abyssion1337
10-08-2009, 01:41 AM
Actually I thought that with the platinum release and the redone episodes near the end was the perfect way to do it, and I did like end of Evangelion, honestly Rebuild isn't inherently a bad idea, I personally love the series and enjoyed it much more than I am Rebuild, it has a style and Rebuild certainly hasn't recaptured it; oh and part of what made eva so good was a lot of what the pulled at the end to cope with the fact that they had lost their funding, it was far me creative than I think Rebuild will pull off

Nodman: The second series - called Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino - came out in Region 1 DVD a couple of months ago, and you can also watch it streamed from the Funimation website (unfortunately, I'm still bereft because there's no PAL edition yet and the website introduced territorial lockout recently, which stopped me from watching the web version again :( ). Like the first series, it's thirteen episodes long, and it's a pretty straight replica of the Pinnochio arc in the manga. There's also an additional OVA whioch contains two more episodes and takes the animation to the "Phantasm" chapter, just before the introduction of Petrushka in the manga.
Il Teatrino was produced by a different studio and to a smaller budget (and it shows, unfortunately...) than the first series, though, so you're going to expect a different beast to the original. It's also a lot more plotty and event-driven than the character-focused first series. It gets dragged over the coals a lot for the lower animation quality, but I don't think that it's so much of an issue as people make out. It's not bad, just not as good, which is still pretty fine. I'm certainly getting a copy when it finally gets to England.
Get hold of the DVDs if you can, because it's really improved by the dub - Funimation reassembled almost the entire original voice cast for Il Teatrino and it really adds a sheen to the series.

Really, I thought the second season was pretty bad for many of the reasons you outlined; even putting aside the rather poor animation quality which I can easily live with(though it is annoying given how nice the first season looked) the final nail in the coffin was certainly changing from being character driven to being plot driven. It just doesn't work as well especially with the main issues being dealt with in the first season taking a back seat to some of the more minor albeit relevant(especially for Italy) issues. It brings back memories of a little show called the West Wing; I love all of Sorkin's work and it's a real shame he can't really keep a show running, it just turns out that usally due to a combination of poor advertising on the networks' part and the fact that his shows are a little too classy for the average viewer that he usually gets canceled. While The West Wing was actually a fairly long lived show(he even recycled jokes from his previous work since it wasn't well watched) but he only wrote the first 4 seasons, and those are the only seasons worth watching: After he left the new writer did focus more on the issues than the fantastically quirky cast he had to work with(them dealing with issues was much of the appeal under Sorkin); he also fried to make it more exciting by having the president's daughter kidnapped in the 5th season and I swear I had to stop watching by the time the 6th season came around.

yeah I've wasted a lot of time on some pretty bad things; I've tried to justify it by saying, "well now that I've started I might as well see where it ends," but no; most the time it's predictable and bland enough for that to be shaky at best
