Ok after you wake from a daze to find you have soiled yourself...no wait thats just water, HOLY CRAP! your on a deserted island
(I will leave you to come up with your own ideas of how you ended up on said island)
Now that you are fully awake and dried off your underwears you discover some dvds of your favourite anime series. While you look for any signs of life you come across a group of monkeys gathered around a coconut dvd player...
They see you have brought them something new to watch and invite you join their merry gang, watch some anime and hope that none of them through any doo doo on you :sweatdrop:

Yeah im bored and had a lot of coffee...

In other words if you were stuck with watching one series of anime for a long period of time without getting sick of it what would that be?

GO!

Awesome! from what i've seen of it it looks cool will have to get a bit more into it me thinks...

For me i'd say Cowboy Bebop

JinVicious
10-28-2009, 12:42 AM
Haha I could do that with Bebop too. Was the first anime I bought and I liked it. only 1 or 2 episodes that I didn't like.

And yeah HNK is good. Very old but a lot of awesome characters in it.

I'm sorry, but I have to go with Dragonball Z, hands down.

Now here's a question: would that also include Dragonball, or just DBZ? (im fine either way :D)

I'm not including GT by the way, it just doesn't feel like DB/Z

JinVicious
10-28-2009, 07:33 AM
DBZ? There's like maybe 10 episodes of actual stuff and the rest is filler =\

But then again that'd probably make it easier to watch over and over.

I would say elfen lied, but maybe it's a little short (14 eps including the Ova)

so maybe an anime that has more eps.
but mostly I don't like those episodes.

The only Anime I really really like with lots of episodes is Monster (71 eps)
awesome 71 eps without any fillers >.<

but maybe I would get enough of it pretty soon (after watched it 2 times or so)
so I really don't know >.<

if we're going for both good and lots of episodes then it should be slayers(as long as it's not the dub)

I watched 3 episodes of Dragon Ball Z, and hated it. However Dragon Ball, was soo awesome that's why I was really let down with Dragon Ball Z.

My choice hmmm... It'd be City Hunter.

For me it would have to be The Wallflower. Followed by Azumanga and GITS, both seasons.

now I thought of the best anime for on a deserted island
loooooooooooooooots of episodes
a few movies
and it is not stupid (like one piece or naruto)

nah, if I'm on a deserted Island, I would take Pok?mon with me =D

Has anyone considered blu-ray, if the monkeys are smart enough to make a dvd player out of a coconut isn't it posible they have a blu-ray player.

If thats out, i guess i would probably want Chrome Shelled Regios, or Sumomomo Momomo

however, it is the best anime ever^^

best ever is a huge stretch, I wouldn't say it's the best in any regard but it is very good

I still say that probably the best option for this exercise it Slayers:
1. It's long, 5 seasons, 3 of 26 and 2 of 13
2. It's good, I actually know a few people who say it's their favorite ever
3. It's comedy, if you're stranded somewhere it's better to have something that will keep your spirits up

defiantly inuyasha or aoi house

but inuyasha suffers from inuyasha syndrome, and I'm pretty sure the series ended with "We'll get Naraku someday"

it IS really that good,
really...
I think it's serieus the best.

I, myself like emotional stuff and drama stuff, Elfen Lied made me cry several times, that means it's good.
and it's not only romance drama and stuff, it got your hooking, it's really addicted, and it is a little scary...

also, for the boys who like that, it gots boobs in it xD
(wasn't really necesairy I think, but I'm not really bothered by it :p)

and it got some super nice soundtracks, best soundtracks ever...
oh, and the opening song is amezing, it's sung in latin, I mean, how cool is that?

I really got into it, right after the first episode.

so, yh, it really is that awesome =D

and Pok?mon is awesome to, the first movie of it, it is really good I think^^

okay, seriously wtf xD
that's actually kinda hillarious :p

It's true that it isn't very long. But I don't really like animes that are ridiculously long. That's one of the reasons that I despise Inu Yasha so much. It seems to go on and on with no end in sight, and they constantly get drawn into side quests and distractions.

I'd probably find one of those series that has like 400 episodes or something. I usually just watch the single-season animes, but if I'm going to be stuck there for a while I'd have time to watch a longer one. I heard that One Piece is good, so I guess I'd see that one.

abyssion1337

Luppi, you can have long and good, you can even have it with it also being generic

Jason, anything that runs that long is going to be average at best

If we are going for a long one then monster. If short and rewatchable then bebop.

I would agree with Cowboy Bebop (hasn't seen the other anime) even though I've seen Bebop more times than I can count XD but that just proves your point, it's re-watchable.

Most of Mizuzaki's (Sorry if my misspelled his name) movies make me wanna do that to people -_- I got sick of my mom and my older brother watching My Neighbor Totoro and Panda Go Panda and acting like it was the greatest thing on the planet -_-.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. Which is why I haven't watched any. I like having one story arc that gets resolved and the series ends, otherwise it seems like they're just trying to run as long as they can and the ideas get stale.

In my personal opinion, FLCL possibly could have started making sense in episode 7, so it's good that they kept that one short.

if i was stranded on an island with nothing but Elfen Lied to watch i would watch it then kill myself... you shouldnt have something that depressing on a deserted island. FLCL is one of my favs but wasnt it only 6 episodes long? honestly i would probably want something long just for the shear fact that it would take forever to watch.

I said the exact same thing when I was defending my choice of Slayers over what pretty much everyone else was saying, or do I have to go over it again:

1. It's long, 5 seasons
2. It's good
3. It's funny and upbeat

so what? even if there were more depressing animes *cough* grave of the fireflies *cough* doesn't make it any more suitable because it still is too depressing for these purposes
