Anybody got any Good RPGs they can recommend? either for PS1, PS2 or PSP?

Excluding any Final Fantasy Game since I've never liked them with the exception of FFT.

I am just bored ****less and need another RPG to play.

I own the first Disgaea and yeah I am in the process of replaying it. Just so far as Grid-based RPGs go I haven't enjoyed any of them as much as the original FFT.

Are Disgaea 2 and 3 as good as the 1st?

I only have Legend of Dragoon for PSX and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for PSP.

I enjoyed them both, but since you said you don't really like FF, then i'll probably suggest you check out LOD.

None of the Suikoden games have lived up to Suikoden2 :( and No Tactics based RPGs I've played have been as fun as FFT. So I'd been bored as **** without anything to play :(

I'll look into some of those whenever some money comes my way.

that may be your personal hang up with the game but most people think it's one of their better selling points, since pretty much no one else does that: Honestly though I find FE has the best stories and characters of any SRPG/TRPG(I've seen both used). Yeah FE I avoid simply cause I don't handle frustration well XD

yeah, I played Guildwars for a while there cause once you buy the damn game it's free, I spend a couple weeks on WoW, again I would never pay money for that crap, we had a cracked version and pirated server, if I wanted to waste money that badly I'd just throw it off a bridge.

to be fair I play lots of online games: L4D, KF, TF2, Diablo 2, and technically Borderlands but the multiplayer kind of sucks since gearbox has yet to get any servers up and running there are a couple others but I haven't actually played them in a long time

Aye, a lot of games now go for online play but quite often the people you find online are Twatwaffles whichs makes the game hard to enjoy.

again, not nearly as much of a problem with a PC then a console, and hacks are pretty much unheard of unless you purposefully enter a server not using VAC

I remember Fatal Frame actually being able to establish an atmosphere, I honestly think it comes pretty close to Silent Hill 2. I'd recommend checking ahead of time which of the twins is older cause it's pretty important and due to a bit of a translation oversight(you're supposed to know which one is older ahead of time but in the translated version Mio isn't constantly saying "Onee-chan" and instead just using her sisters actual name, so it got a bit lost in translation: What a fantastic movie that was, I absolutely loved it)

hmm, that's strange that they arnt twins, then again, the translations as you said can screw things up a bit. and silent hill 2 was not all that scary, (and you get to meet pyramid head for the first time <3) but i tend to play a lot of survival horror because of the story's they can tell... that can be quite twisted, i also love the music and scenery of how they do things in them too. but the only game that has reall7y scared me out of everything i have played was Silent hill 3. unfortunately the silent hill games went down the drain when they finished 4, then the stupid Americans made a movie and Sh0 and 5 (i have not played 0) but they ruined the whole franchise! and really 5 sucked, they could not make the demented monsters blend in well with the scenery, you had fighting skills (which makes things seem a bit easier) and they could not get the music to spike towards something different when ever there was a monster around, i mean its kinda not all that scary if you have calm music always ALWAYS playing. but i guess the story was the only good thing, that's the only reason why i keep it.

no, they are twins but it's important to the story to know which twin was born first (as you know twins don't come out at that exact same time)

I still think SH2 was the best of them but 3 was also all right, 4 had a fantastic idea behind it but they kinda screwed up with the controls. And the Americans totally screwed up the next few games, they didn't in any way understand the symbolism of the monsters(which is why the monsters change appearance from game to game) nor did they get that the town isn't trying to utterly destroy you: It's simply trying to passive aggressively torture you to death which is why there shouldn't be tons of monsters coming at you

SH 2 did have the best story, but SH 4 was strange in other ways, I loves Walter Sulavan though. but SH 3 was just a pick up upon the First game (which i still have not beaten but know what happens) but i loved the alternate endings for them, and the best one was the UFO endings and (dog in SH 2) i was disappointed when the Americans screwed up the UFO ending and made it animated. (JACK ASSES) but i still cant understand what happened to silent hill after the third game? i thought it sorta got destroyed as in it powers or something ceased, but then again you cant kill a town, unless you get aliens to do it. :)

Right well, from all accounts the next SH game is supposed to recapture 2, but they've already stated that you'll have to take a short quiz before the game so it knows what to throw at you: Clearly the people making this should just stay out of the genre since they can't construct a good narrative without first getting some player input

it deserves one the most, they could make a prequel, to the first war 10,000 years ago when the dragoons were first created and how the first dragoons met each other and such, is perfect plan i dont know why sony doesnt consider it >>

i would put my money on .hack, the origional .hack series, not g.u. but good luck getting ur hands on them. the first 4 cost me $150 alone...

if ur looking for something cheaper... i would say phantasy star portable for the psp, not as good as phantasy star online: blue burst. but its easier to get than blue burst. besides, psp games are free.
