How is it going everyone? I'm just another random individual who is trying their hand at making AMVs and even planning on making an attempt for a spot for either amv minis or 5...

I wasn't too sure about something, and I didn't know where to ask this question, so I decided that this is probably the best place if any to ask... I'm coming up with several ideas for some amv ideas... (one idea was already finish and posted on my youtube page, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsapQiZlbLI) The problem though, is that one project I am working on is half way finished and another project deals with Sgt Frog, and I am still trying to watch the episodes even though there are over 150 of them ><...

In situations where you are making an amv and if you are running out of ideas (or material to use), is it better to ask for help from others or am I better off to still go solo? I would like to avoid situations where if you talk about an idea, someone takes it for themselves...

i dont know, usually if i get an idea from being stupid, i just make it and hope for the best...
unfortunately, amv hell 5 rejected my two entries TT_____TT.
on the bright side my first one for a minis got accepted, so from that experience, im going to do more in adobe flash.
NEWGROUNDS i love you!

but ya, just go with your gut, watch TV, if you get insperation just im to make it, who knows, maybe they may get accepted : D

I've gotten to the point where I'll watch anime and right when a scene comes on I'll get an idea for a song to go with it. Making AMVs seems to have corrupted my mind.

My advice would be to keep watching more anime when it seems like you've run out of ideas. You've got until about July to try to get into 5.

I don't see a problem with it as long as they're okay with you using their idea. It's possible that someone has plenty of ideas, but doesn't have the means to make an AMV out of them, so in a sense you'd be doing them a favor. I say as long as you're not stealing you can get them anywhere.

Ideally, of course, you'd come up with the ideas yourself. Like Jason said, just keep on watching and something's bound to come up.

Hmm... I see what your saying... It would be helping others complete workable amvs if you share ideas... I am a bit hesitant to say my idea, but at the same time, I still want to say it to get feedback... I am still going to attempt it anyway, then from there allow someone to improve on it...

All that I can say is that it deals with Sgt. Frog and Kermit (how original... I know...) however, I'm not going to say much else about it since that would spoil the surprise... I'm just hope I don't lose my sanity if I start a Sgt. Frog marathon...

So far the idea sounds good. And don't worry about losing your sanity, once it's gone you'll realize how much more fun you have without it.

Oh my god, the same thing happens to me to!

Really, just think for a bit, come up with a few ideas (and maybe make them a reality), and after that, you don't have to think anymore. Just pick an anime to watch, and listen to a lot of different music, and just lean back and wait. The ideas will come to you by the bucket.

I'm still trying to work my way through Sgt. Frog still, but while I'm working on that project, I am also working on another project that could be considered alittle over the top...

I don't want to give out much for it, but I'm actually looking for random clips of the following
people firing guns (example: you see the character fire a gun, but you don't actually see who they are shooting at)
people who try to fire guns but run out of ammo
people who throw grenades
and I need a clip of a warehouse explosion (It would be for the midpoint climax... I don't want the warehouse to be destroyed, but something to show that there was a big explosion inside)

If anyone does know where I can find some clips, please tell me... I have worked on this "Gun" project for about 3 weeks and I am only half done... I may post a preview soon if I can at least get enough clips together for showing...
