As I was Christmas shopping, I passed a display for high definition TV or cable (not sure which) and they were playing a movie or TV show that looked very cool. I wonder if anyone can identify it for me by a description of a scene.

It was in a jungle/native village sort of setting. There was a guy who looked like a skinny Indiana Jones knockoff. There was a darker-skinned guy with a shaved head wearing only a little skirt and a wide collar--probably supposed to be Egyptian. (I don't THINK the Indy character was Brendan Fraser, or I'd assume it was the newer Mummy movie.)

Anyway, in the scene, these sandy-colored, seven foot tall zombie/undead-type creatures with skull faces just shot up out of the ground behind people, grabbed them, and whooshed right down into the sand taking them along.

It looked like pretty cool CGI, so I assume it's a more recent movie or cable program.

Any ideas?

A movie comes to mind.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219671/

There was another that was basically a B version of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, but I can't remember the name.

I was thinking it was the second Tomb Raider film, as there are shadow monsters in that which grab people when they sense movement, but that part took place in a wooded area, so I'm not particularly sure. The Tomb Raider films are pretty much Indiana Jones knockoffs, and I would not recommend them as they are boring as hell. I haven't seen The Time Machine remake for a very long time, so I don't know whether thats the film you're talking about as I can't open that link for some reason.
