hmm....i've kinda been thinking of an idea....that i'm sure was probably brought up before, i just can't find anything that says it was suggested....but i was wondering what people would think of say...mini episodes...of the rejections..then others can critique on why they think the clips were rejected..... or just say how they liked/disliked the clips...just an idea.....but i probably wouldn't have the time to head the operation...anyone interested, anyways, whats your "critique" on the idea?

Hmm, I see where you're coming from Ranma but I don't think that it's necessary to make formal compilations out of the rejections - it takes a long time to create the Minis as they are, and that there are more rejections than accepted clips which complicates matters further.

If you need feedback on your own clips, it's probably a more efficient use of effort, and more direct, to upload them to the Video Directory in the toolbar - that's what a lot of people do already, as long as they're clips that are not currently waiting on acceptance in a Minis episode - and then make a thread in the forum asking for criticism.

Sounds good. I like criticizing other people's work http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/8514/79044543by4.gif

I think the original authors posting each one individually will suffice.

As much as I love to criticize other people (and it seems we all do) people usually seem to post their rejected clips on their own. It's not all nice and compiled, but I think it works. There's also the risk of, since all the videos were rejected, all of them deserve criticism, which would be too much for a single comment on a video.

not only will people post their rejected clips they often won't accept constructive criticism about their clips and become giant flamers about it

well why not make a amv hell REJECTED movie?
and just put the clips that were rejected that have consent to this criticism.
including why not include a format that has a little white description of why it was rejected.
now just trying to copy the format of amv hell would be difficult.

Most of the rejected have very very good reasons for being rejected

(in the few of mine that have been)

- Not popular enough "memes" or songs
- Poor editing
- Not funny (for a wide variety of people)
- Not creative
- Verbally or sexually explicit
- Poor visual sync (lips don't move with the noise)
- Simply annoying / boring
- Codec errors
- Video errors (DIVX CODEC LOGO >:[ )

if you get past all of those things i don't see why you wouldn't be in.

If you have problems with editing some people on the forums (including me) will piece together your idea in a much higher quality with software like vegas/ final cut/ avid/ adobe premier or even ulead.

Editing an amv on "movie maker" or another weak piece of software normally turns out poor and could be your biggest problem.

If your stuck on making a rejections AMV Hell, im willing to help with an intro and piece it together for you...

problem is... what about the amvs that get rejected from that? (cause you cant accept them all, it WOULD look terrible)

I trust zarxrax and his "council" to make the right decisions.

Guys I honestly think this is a bad idea, many of these think that their work is the greatest thing since sliced bread; seriously I told one person:

"Yeah that is an awesome clip, yet I can still see why it wasn't included: One, as awesome as it is it's in no way funny (it really wasn't but it was pretty cool) and Two it's too long, you'd have to cut at least 10 seconds off of it for it to be viable. All in all it would really disrupt pacing which is by no means of professional quality in the hell series but any comedy really needs"

You would not believe some of the things this guy said in response

I had originally intended to make at least one compilation of videos that really failed it hard... but, yea, I probably wont ever get around to that.
It's definitely an idea that has merit, if done properly though.

There actually are a few fan-made videos like this, here's one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_XTC-BAMPc

lol, well i ment as ones that may have just not made it in, as opposed to total fail....but if 1 major fail and maybe 1 "just missed it" videos would be cool - like i;m no pro editor in anyway but i myself did think my clip was funny enough to get in....but i guess that's all it was, was funny :P

but anyways, it was just an idea, just being how i was rejected - i was just wondering how many other clips that were funny - may have just missed it....and i had no idea about the video directory thing, so i added a few videos there for other to view :P

but anyways - thanks for the Critique of even the idea...never hurts to ask i guess.

but once i get my new computer up and running i might try my hand at a few more ideas....but i still got my fingers crossed on my submitted clip, which i didn't really have any lip syncing on purpose till the end...but its still up the review committee.
