ok, well it completely depends on the country you live in but the series exists in the legal gray cluster**** known as the fair use act, which would be effective if not for the fact that people with lawers can still sue those without and major video sites (who am I kidding, site) support the companies regardless of the act. So no it's not illegal but if you really care as to whether it's legal or not then perhaps you shouldn't download it, go into the real world and learn that laws don't even come close to any semblance of Justice

Most of the anime producers support fan-made works, but the music companies are the ones that seem to be a problem. But the series is legal, like abyssion said.

I've actually downloaded a number of songs (as in bought them) after hearing them in AMV Hell, so what are they complaining about? Free advertising!

Anyway, as long as the cops aren't literally watching over your shoulder they won't have any idea WHAT you're downloading. People do illegal things all the time over the internet, it's made crime easy and fun for all ages.
