Hey,

I have no idea whether or not this is the right forum to ask this in, but I've suddenly gotten the itch to make some AMVs myself and have no clue which video editing software to use.

So what software do you guys use or would you recommend?

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 7. It works pretty well, I've made a number of successful entries for AMV Hell 5. It won't do anything completely amazing like Sony Vegas, but I don't mind.

I use sony vegas.....and some adobe after effects and gimp.

By the way Jason, did you get the FTP information yet. Have you submitted yet? I havent gotten it yet.

They said they were "working out who's going to be running it" when I asked about FTP about 2 weeks ago. That's about all I know.

I use adobe premiere pro cs3, i got it free from a source that will remain anon. but i rather like it. its similar to Final cut Pro, which is what i learned on. i do wish this damn thing came with directions tho, or at least a hot key guide.

My CS3 comes with help. and if you hover your mouse over a button long enough, a tooltip should appear with the hotkey and name, at least.

i used to use sony vegas 9.0 but i have a mac now so i need video editing software LOL!

for mac look into final cut pro or final cut studio. they're a tad bit expensive. but they're worth it.

At the moment I'm using a mixture of Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 and Adobe After Effects loaded with Trapcode Particular and Video Copilot's Evolution and Riot Gear.

Sony Vegas 9.0, never used anything other than that for AMVs. I only use it because I was given to me for free by a friend, but it has served me well so far.
