I'd read/watch all of twilight. It's not gonna kill you, it's just really bad. And hey, here's for memory loss.

well, I'd hafta say that unless it's something like my sweat turning to diamonds or the like, I'll take Twilight. The books weren't classical literature, but they were an entertaining read.

if by entertaining you mean more invasive and damaging than lobotomy

As much as I dislike twilight, there are worse things out there than twilight for example

Pauly Shore's Career
The Stepford Wives remake
Godzilla 1998
Teabaggers (political and in gaming)
Batman and Robin
etc.

Y'know? I respect everyone's opinion, (or at least try to) but the sheer level of hatred towards Twilight makes me think that people only say they hate it because it's now the red-headed stepchild of pop culture. I would bet my DVD collection that more than half of the people deriding the books haven't even touched them. They saw the "cool kids" ragging on it and decided that they must be bad because of that. I'm not a rabid fan, but I can't say that I didn't enjoy them.

BTW scarmullet, can we add the people who say that any dissent to Barry-O is racism to your list of things that suck?

well the reason why I hate twilight is 2 things...A)when it came out my house was swarmed with 10-15 year old girls all watching it 10 TIMES in a row and going OMG...and B) I grew up on the original vampire movies and twilight is a kiddy and ponies round of a vampire; vampires never could love only dracula cause he was the original and vampires can only mimic love with lust, vampires when they go into the sun even if it's cloudy the BURN not GLITTER...honestly you are not the spawn of satan if you glitter in the sunlight..that is what rollar skaters in california and florida do

actually I tried reading twilight, tried being the keyword here, see when something deserves hate and I want to argue against it I make sure I'm well armed and here's the thing: Terrible romance that makes no ****ing sense and vampires that are a complete betrayal any kind of vampire ever seen any where before the writing itself was so bad I couldn't get through more than a couple chapters. I returned the book to the person I borrowed from and went through other means of finding information. So I could get into how the characters act in no way like people, or vampires, I could get into how the plot stupidly meanders around with no rhyme or purpose and I could marvel at how how its unfortunate popularity ruined vampires: I mean really, I wonder what Ann Rice would say, I like to think that she holds Stephenie Meyer down as Bram Stoker strangles her.

As for me I'll stick with Karin for vampire romance stories that have a new take on vampires.

I recommend watching Twilight with Rifftrax commentary. It's worth watching for that, at least.

As for the movie itself, I thought it had some interesting ideas (a treaty with a wolf tribe, vampires trying to suppress their killer instincts in order to honor said treaty), but I didn't care for the characters or their predicaments at all.

me personally if I wanted to see a movie that is like twilight I'll stick with Vampire Hunter D...both movies are all and I so say she took the idea from it to make twilight..just added emo teens

you know Doom, I might agree with you were they actually new ideas that hadn't been done better in the past, though I'm never on board with when they combine vampires and werewolves in movies and books like that since they can never get it right.

As for rifftrax, that's like MST3K right?

and now to get the horrible suck vampires off my mind I'm going to assemble a group for WoD

Her "The Host" book would have made an awesome movie. However and unfortunately they chose her Emotastic Vampire books for movies. Also unfortunately I've Listened to the Books on Tapes for them.

On a side note, I hope they do make them according to the Books. Because I think in the fourth one she gives birth and the guy bites her stomach closed lol... Then the shape shifter Indian falls in the love with the Infant girl hahaha. So yah I'm sure that'll help people that love those books and movies vomit.

I started out hating Twilight because of all the fangirls, then I kept going because everyone else does, and THEN I saw this somewhere. It gives me a legitimate reason to hate it. That's just sick.

I would rather spend two hours or so watching Twilight than get an incurable disease. Sure, it's going to be a horrible experience, but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I read The Host, way back when Twilight hadn't infected the population. I liked it.
Then again, I sometimes read a seinen romance manga and like it. I don't mean one where the guys are all pretty.
On a related note, I thought Kare Kano was really good, despite its travelling and commitment.

I would rather have every terminal disease known to man and then a few more than read just 1 page of Twilight.

If you ladies ever got a girlfriend or got laid, you'd know chicks almost all of them enjoy this kind of crap. Only reason why I sat and listened to em with her.

Dude, the entire twilight ruins a ton of things about Vampire lore and literature at the same time.
The author follows virtually none of the "commonly accepted" vampire lore of weaknesses (garlic, stakes, crossing running water, sleeping in grave dirt, in some countries they can be hurt with alcohol), the main vampire reads like a ****file stalker, the main character obsesses over him constantly and reading it made me feel like some part of my brain was being incinerated. I put the first book down after five chapters and left the series alone.
Not to mention the insane hype that surrounds the series. It's disgusting. Then again for a hot girl men are willing to put up with some pretty strange stuff, and I don't think I'd be crazy enough not to suffer through it for a hot chick.

abyssion1337

it's ok to not use commonly accepted vampire lore, which is done successfully all the damn time, because alternate lore tends to spring from that and is fully defined, and doesn't suck.

it's like you gotta take a girl to that Daybreaker movie and point and go..THAT IS A VAMPIRE, THAT IS YOUR EDWARD..and then shortly after you laugh when you see someone get drained and devoured

To reply to the original question, I'd take Twilight, 5 or 6 friends, chairs and a table, drinks & snacks and arrange drinking games, dramatic readings, etcetera.

Cause if there's anything that can make a horrible book entertaining, that's mocking the twinkly **** out of it.

Would you read the graphic novel version of twilight... Or disease?

I'd read twilight over getting a disease, but I've had to read 'Lolita' for an English class and twilight can only be about as bad as that, or a Anne Rice vampire fan-fiction (from what I've heard Bella is never described so that the reader can assume she looks like them, that sounds like a fan-fiction to me).

idk in the end people are losing the 'fear' that vampires give..instead vampires are now getting fan girls...well I guess it saves them time finding victims
