Everyone! Hurry, before June 22nd, you all need to go to www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/901466365 and sign that petition for more Azumanga Daioh! Even if you don't want to, do it! For me! I've been working my ass off trying to get people to sign this! I've sent LITTERALLY 200+ e-mails to people from Azumanga Daioh fansite, made little "flyers" and handed them out to people at my school. I even made seven of my family/friends sign it! I CAN"T DO THIS ALONE! If we are going to reach 2,000 signatures, everyone needs to do their part! PLEASE!

I actually got right back into the series because outside of my school there are these retarded freshmen who play inuyasha or naruto right in front of where we hang out. Because of them we can't enjoy those series' anymore. Anyway, one day we said "How come they aren't playing DBZ at all?" So me and my friend got into a Huge energy beam battle. Ha...we're cool. But at least people cheered us on rather than them

Yeah, the ending of Azumanga Daioh was perfect. If you'd want some more of Azuma's great humor, you should read Yotsuba&!, or if you want it to be in animated form, just wait. It should come sooner or later.

True, it ended fine, but I mean [AMV] hell, they condensed 3 years into 26 eps, I'm sure they could expand somewhere...or make an OVA, that would be amazing! But it's all good, because I'm feel it's safe to say it'll never work out :'(

Haha Yes!!! Osaka's quest to become a teacher thanx to Chiyo Chans suggestion. she ends up becoming the homeroom teacher next Niamo and Yukari and is more popular then both of them are combined. (plus she actually has a bf)

movie ends with Yukari's sucide and a funeral that brings the whole cast together again ^_^

I would like to see an OVA or movie on what happens to the characters about 10 years after they gradguated. I can see Yomi becoming a teacher then Tomo copies and becomes a teacher too and they will be like the new Yukari and Nyamo. But dont see that happening

I'm an Azumanga-holic (lousy cliches), but I couldn't see what good extending the show would do. Perhaps a "director's cut" where they do all the parts of the manga that they took out of the anime? Meh...

Anyways, I like the series the way it is, and tampering with it at this point (7 years after the manga, 5 years after the anime) would be a crime against (anime) humanity. The Azumangas (yes, there are others) are like a dead loved one. Like Zarvox said, just let it die.

You've obviously never read the manga, have you?

The anime fails to incorperate things like when they worked at Megatron Burger (I think that's how it's spelled). We could include these things with the OVA (sadly, "we" refers to the Azumanga Daioh Committee). LAME!

I have read Yotsuba!, and I second what you just said. Azuma is my favorite manga author after all.
