i haven't seen a thread about ps1 or n64 on this site so i made one.

I think Brave Fenser Musashi and Gran Turismo are the best PS1 games and Ocarina of time and Mario 64 are best on the N64

N64- Orcarina of time and Majoras mask. Also both Banjo and Kazooies. And probally not the best or even in the running for the best: Michief Makers.

I never had a PS1 T-T

N64 Goldeneye.....if someone can help me do lan on a N64 emulator Goldeneye will be king again.

PS1 Parasite Eve, mainly because I like the battle system, it is possible to go through any battle and not even get hit.

darkzi

psx - legend of dragoon and FF anthology
64 - smash bros and zelda

and for the hell of it dreamcast - sonic adventures (face it the dreamcast was a good system, and if you dont believe me then look at your xbox controller, stolen from sega)

N64 was my first game system. So many fond memories, but the only genuinely great games I remember playing are Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros. I wish I had played Zelda, but I was too obsessed with Pokemon (Snap, Stadium, Hey You Pikachu) to focus on a puzzle game.

geez, i find it hard to actually pick :P

N64 - so many good titles...but for 1 not said yet: Conkers' Bad Fur Day and best pokemon n64 game: Pokemon Puzzle League

Ps1 - my Fav FF was FFIX so i'll pick that :P

My fav ps1 games would have to be Crash Team Racing and Driver 2

My fav N64 games would have to be MarioKart 64, Pokemon Stadium, and 007 GoldenEye.

Sonic Adventure was good but Sonic Adventure 2 was better. The thing is, Shenmue defined the Sega Dreamcast.

Yeah, I love the dreamcast and the sonic adventure games were good, but they were far from what the dreamcast really had to offer, I also really liked Illbleed

Not really FF7 is a good game but highly overrated, no way it could ever compare to FF6

N64 - Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Mario, Mario Party, Pokemon Stadium, Rogue Squadron, Lylat Wars, Extreme G and F-Zero X.

If I had to pick one though... the Banjo-Kazooies. (I never played Ocarina of Time beyond the childhood years and have never owned a Playstation.)

Also did anyone else get blisters and general lack of skin in the palm of your hand from Mario Party?

I say this. Zelda: Ocarina of time. The last time i checked it was STILL ranked the greatest video game in history. XD.

WARNING: Mini rant.

**** "thank you for saving us Mario, but the princess is in another castle." Just give me "Zora's engagement ring" or the "gold gauntlets" or "Big Goron's Sword"

ocarina is the best game ever even if it does have that dam water temple.

N64 is a hard one: Super Smash Brothers, Mario 64, Goldeneye. One of those 3 can't decide which ones best
PS1: GTA 1/2 or GT 1/2 again can't decide
[Honourable Contender: Need for Speed Porsche, before the crappy Underground came and ****ed things up]

The PS1 was a decent system, and the N64 was okay...but, don't worry, Ima let you finish...

PS2 was the greatest system of ALL TIME!

OT:
N64:
Banjo-Kazooie
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Jet Force Gemini
Perfect Dark
Star Fox 64
Star Wars: Episode I: Racer
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Super Smash Bros
Yoshi's Story

PS1
Final Fantasy Tactics (This game was 'DOOD' before 'Dood'!)
Final Fantasy 8/VIII (Well...ok, yeah it was kind of broken but it was fun!)
Breath Of Fire 3/4 (Kind of on the fence about which is better)
Crash Bandicoot (series)
Front Mission 3
Klonoa: Door To Phantom (The wii-make beats it to hell, but the original was just so damn good!)
SMT: Persona 2: Part 2: Eternal Punishment (This really was my first 'non-mainstream game, and I still have my original copy, somewhere...)
Spyro (series)
Syphon Filter (series) (Sam Fisher may have refined it, but Logan was the first. Shocking enemy's balls until they burned alive is STILL fun)
Twisted Metal 2 (It's TW2, come on!)

actually no there was a pc version; came on 4 discs, 1 install and the rest was the game discs..fun thing was all the CG was AVI so you could get every CG vid off the install disc, and FFVIII was PC also

http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-8-Pc/dp/B000040OEH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1284042982&sr=8-1

downside they wouldnt run on XP

09-09-2010, 09:26 PM
hmm, I stand corrected, though for what's it's worth I've found a download for the PC version and they really didn't change anything, so yeah it may as well count. This thread should include 90's PC games anyway

jinzo64
09-10-2010, 12:25 AM
erm i'm not sure.
i think we should stick with this how it is
maybe make another thread to cover a wider range of game formats.

abyssion1337
09-10-2010, 01:28 AM
why, it's a thread about nostalgic games, for me 90's pc games are nostalgic. also what do you mean by 'wider range of game formats' that makes no sense because the intent is unclear. I assume you mean genre but that can't be right because all sorts of genres were made for the ps1 and n64, there's a plethora of genres for each so please clarify that point. Also why is everyone's solution to make more threads, we have a lot of active ones.

I believe Jinzo was referring to game consoles.

abyssion1337
09-10-2010, 04:00 AM
that's a poor definition for 'formats' though

and I still assert that the other part of my statement holds water

jinzo64
09-10-2010, 08:55 AM
i said it to include all game formats consoles and home computers.
it seemed like a good definition at the time.
erm i guess p.c games would be fine i guess.
probably not my choice to make that should probably be a decision for the thread maker.

I used to play those games all the time over at my friend's house. "3... 2... 1... GO!" I still always think of Crash Bash whenever they count down from three in anything. It almost brings a tear to my eye. Growing up sucks!
