4) Will ME3 be available on Steam?
During initial release Mass Effect 3 will be available on Origin and a number of other 3rd party digital retailers, but not on Steam at this time. Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content. We are intent on providing Mass Effect to players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play their game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers.

Farking Spyware...

sounds like an EA lie, they just want to get their Origin going with more people

I found that the Steam support for ME2 blew...HARD. The cerberus network was totally borked which made DLC impossible to utilize for me. On the flip side I actually got great customer service from EA and they set me up with a digital direct download even though I had already bought the game through Steam. I will admit, I like steam's handling of most of the Bethesda material and Shogun Total War II.

But with EA in the cross hairs as much as they are, I can sort of understand why they don't want to be inundated with complaints from Steams notoriously slow customer service support and wonky client interaction for a game that is going to have just oodles of Pre-order DLC.

I wonder how much this will hurt Steam in the long run

Negligible. Steam will still get delivery on plenty of top-shelf titles and Bioware has been dropping the ball some lately. Mass Effect 2 was fun to watch, but not as good a playthrough as ME1. I never played DAO, but from what I hear DA2 was a pale shadow, and I have to say from my own experience, it didn't have oodles of replay value. As for SWTOR, I beta tested it, played through to 50 twice, and now I have absolutely no interest in playing it further. Its a good RPG, but a mediocre to horrible MMO, which is bad when your game is packed as an MMO.

I'll be buying ME3, but I'm not expecting alot TBH.

You do realize that Origins scans your computer constantly and if it finds anything "offensive" or "hacks" even if its just porn and a 3rd party video program they can ban your account making your legitly bought games null in void?

LoL, I don't know where you heard that but it's not really true.

Yah my Mass Effect 2 and DLC worked fine on Steam. It was because of EA's inability to make added software work that the Cerberus network was down.

I didn't "hear" anything, this was my own experience, hence the part where I said "I found that Steam support for ME2 blew.." to the extent that the customer service I filed 28 months ago regarding the issue still has never been answered, but then again, this is old hat. I've lost track of how many times I put in a customer service ticket with Steam only to have to figure out a remedy for an issue myself because they never respond. And if I had a nickle for every time an acquaintence or friend of mine has complained about slow customer service response from Steam, I'd be independently wealthy.

There are several things you're not taking into account.
1. Steam gets a lot of support tickets
2. Individual game devs usually solve their own problems, so sending a ticket to steam isn't as useful as contacting the devs, FYI most devs have people on the steam forums for games they've made.
3. The community likely has already seen that problem, I've never had to send in a support ticket cause every problem I've ever had I've been able to find someone on the forums who already solved the same problem.
4. Most problems don't actually have anything to do with Steam, they can only solve problems that have to do with the client itself or valve games, see point number 2.
5. You're doing it wrong.
