so this is audio only atm, but the full version will have video of me and video of the game(s). The webshow is meant to educational in the subject of music, specifically video game music covering history, but mostly theory used in well known video game songs. My first episode is covering the Zelda series. The section you will hear will is where I talk about the wind waker credits theme.

I liked how you had the music go along with your information.
The music had a good volume so it didn't distract me from what you were saying.
You have a nice voice that's pleasant to listen to.

I liked it, make sure to post in here to let us know when the full episode is released.

EDIT: I liked the knowledgeable informative tone

I'd recommend slightly lowering the volume of the music when you are talking. Otherwise, viewers may get a bit confused as to what you are saying. If possible, I'd you should take advantage of Youtube's Closed Captioning System. If you need to download a Closed Captioning program, I suggest you use DivXLand Media Subtitler (www.divxland.org/subtitler.php)

EDIT: While WMV is an okay format, I'd recommend MP4. It takes up less space if you encode it correctly.

Finally, one of the few webshow's I've seen so far (which, I'm afraid to say, are also few) in which the voice isn't muffled, scratchy or mute-button inducing and is actually quite nice to listen to... However, like Haar already said, it's hard to hear what you're saying when the music begins, causing me to resort to youtube's cheap CC button; the result, of course, was disastrous, as it caused me to wonder for a good 5 minutes exactly what the son would do to my parents...

Holy crap, that is really weird. I known I'm not the clearest orator. I think I will put some hard subs in there. I'll just say it is for the hearing impaired.

*edit* I'm glad the audio sounds descent. I would beat myself up if it didn't. I have lots of music recording experience and have taken recording lessons at my school. I just wish my production skills were better.

I wouldn't recommend hardsubs. As I said before, it'd be better to manually add softsubs.

wow thanks, I will bookmark that. I understand now why the youtube closed captioning didn't work. I used words that don't actually exist in the english language, but they are made up words based of real words that are commonplace among musicians and composers. Words like disjunct, Arpeggiates, and nonharmonic will appear in scholarly settings, but are not real words.

*edit*
Its a miracle. this awful setup is actually working.

Bad news. My computer which has all the video files I filmed today just crapped out and now it won't turn on. I turned if off normally and now it won't turn on at all. I think it is a hardware failure. Lets hope I can get a free repair or backup.

*edit3*
and now it works again. this is weird....

my only recommendation is something my mother drilled into me: enunciation. clearly defining your words will raise you above the youtube world despite any poor mike quality.

Oh, and you'll need this (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix)if you plan on giving out download links to your videos and want the subtitles to show up without re-encoding a hardsubbed file.

It's relatively simple using MKVMerge. Just get your SRT subtitle file you made in Divxland Media Subtitler add it into MKVMerge along with your raw x264 AAC encoded MP4(or whatever format you choose to use) and Mux the file into a new MKV. You'll probably need to install some codecs and/or Media Player Classic to play the finished MKV afterwards, though.
