So a friend of mine and I were at Metrocon 2011 and on Saturday night during the rave (which we couldn't get in cus I lost my pass) and they were screening AMV Minis and AMV Hell in the computer gaming room. They had the computers in the back area (closest to the door) and the rest of the room was seating area (chairs or otherwise) in front of the screen playing the vids. It was a great time. People sang along, we all laughed together, just went nuts in general. My friend and I liked it so much that we wanted to host a panel of our own for it. We got permission to do so and Khaotic Kon accepted our panel submission, so we get to do that in April.
At Metrocon the guys running it had a few tables set up selling concessions and whatnot, walked around asking people to buy their Ballz (energy drink,) and just kinda treated it like hosting a party and mingled and such. Now we can't have gaming set up at our panel, but I wanted to know: What would you like to see at a panel like this if you attended it? We need some ideas on how to make it more than just some boring old "walk in and watch" room. Any ideas?

Do trivia? Like occasionally stop the video and ask who knows the video and/or audio source? I really can't imagine what else you could do.

maybe do a behind the scenes kind of thing where you show the process of making an amv skit.
or you can always just do an Q&A panel like a lot of the VA's do. you can always mix them all up time depending xD

I can only stick to conventions within driving distance of houston, as far as dallas. So A-kon, matsuri, oni-con, Delta H Con(that ones a little small). those conventions. im trying mybest to go to a-kon every year. its the biggest in texas

i cant go to another convention soon; i splurged myself at the last convention xD

if given the chance at a nearby convention, i wouldnt mind being on an amv hell panel. almost wanted to do an amv nightmare panel at the last convention i went to xD

I have an idea. If any of the contributers are present, maybe exchange some insights. Pitch a few ideas or compare clips. The only way to really sound technical when it comes to AMVs is to look at it from the entertainment side (editing, audio/video, placement in the lineup, etc.). So its not going to be all that exciting unless the other people attending the panel are really savvy AMV makes themselves.

i'm quite excited the one i'm going to in august is the third one i'm going to but is the first one i'll be attending b myself so i'm also quite nervous about it.
