It's no secret that I've been looking forward to firefall, like even a little. Anyway I just got accepted into the beta and lemme tell ya, we're talking really really early, there's not set release date but we're looking at about a year (it's F2P so no big deal) Anyway, because of this NDA I can't really talk about it but you should sign up. For those of you who don't know Firefall is an MMO FPS borrowing elements from Tribes and with a creative team that worked on WoW.

I can't say anything about the beta process, information about the game has been available for a long time.

for Firefall? We're very very early on in the beta process.

i know you said that in the 1st post of the thread.
but i've never done any type of beta testing.
my mates done a couple of beta tests at the very late stages more like play testing than anything else he also got the chance to try the beta version of uncharted 3 multiplayer.

so was just curious to how things were going with your beta testing going.

Hmm, well I'm under NDA so I can't say anything about the beta process whatsoever (having done QA before yes this is pretty serious). Obviously they'll eventually lift the NDA and I'll be able to say more. While most games don't maintain an NDA through the entire beta process MMO's like Firefall have some pretty long beta processes.

i was more curious as to if your enjoying the beta testing.
if your finding it difficult?
i mean in a beta test your looking for bad code and techinical glitches that the bases of it right?

p.s what kinda game is firefall?

like does it have freeworld
what level of grinding and stuff

I can talk about what kind of game firefall is, that information has been available for quite some time, it's an MMO shooter borrowing gameplay elements from Tribes (the fun flying through the air elements, not the annoying everyone dies in like one hit from anything elements). It's class based BUT changing your class is supposed to be simple (hopefully there will be incentives to specialize though). I'm having a lot of fun beta testing, but I like taking a hard look at things, particularly games and seeing how they can be improved.

Will there be an open world to explore? There will, that's one of the things they've mentioned publicly. I really want to get people hyped so if it's something the devs already said that's not beta specific I can talk about it (ya know, kinda).

I can say a little bit about it: Each class has their own weapon, and that's pretty straightforward: the classes are Assault, Recon, Medic, Engineer and Dreadnaught, I think you can figure those out from the names.

is this game a p.c exclusive or will it be multi format?

I'm unaware of any plans to release it for anything other than PC. MMO's rarely get to be multi-platform.

Even if they were going to that's waaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line.

i guess i am getting a bit ahead of it.
but it is true most mmo don't normaly make it on to consoles
but the consoles did get dc unvierse online and ffXIV

final fantasy mmo's were originally console exclusive, also all of them are very very bad. No exceptions.

oh i thought FFXII was a pc exclusive.
i never said the mmo versions of FF were good i was just saying they were on consoles.
