Hey guys. I figured I'd make a thread instead of spamming the hell out of the last post wins thread.

Day 1: Made it from Muncie, Indiana to Springfield, Missouri. No storms to report so far =[
Will post pics a later day, for I am tired [long day + its 2am EDT (1am here x3)]

Amazing how with all our technology the best way to study tornadoes is to basically go out and try to throw probes in front of them.

Day 2 update [i know its a day later, but internet at last nites hotel sucked bad, so i couldnt update anything]: Made it all the way to Amarillo, TX with no storm activity again. We did stroll through Joplin, Missouri, the site of that EF5 [a very strong damaging] tornado about one year ago. I will post pics when I have time and not pooped out x3

Day 3: Went from Amarillo, TX and traveled to Roswell, NM. We traveled west and south of Roswell in pursuit of some strong storms. West only provided a nice, lightning show. South of Roswell, we encountered a storm, and stopped just short of it passing over us, and almost got nailed by a bunch of hail. But we saw some hail [pea-sized], and as we traveled back up north to Roswell to stay at a hotel, the highway and surrounding areas were covered in hail. looked like it had snowed instead of hailed xD Will have to post pics of that as soon as i can x3

surpised you went that far west out of the main zone, even though they just had a tornado out there

thats why we were in NM lol. but we couldnt get to that tornado b/c we had just arrived in Roswell when it first happened, plus that part of NM is too mountainous for us to chase in. When we went west from Roswell, we had to turn around b/c of increasing hills/mountains.

so are you going back to tornado alley or are you just chasing random cell that pop up that might be of interest

I'm guessing your crew doesn't have a storm intercept vehicle. But if they do and it can survive tornado intercepts try and get a pic from inside a tornado. Also did you see any aliens in Roswell. And I mean the flying saucer kind not the ones from Mexico.

I feel so missed x3 I would shed, if PA was flat enough to chase storms in =/ No aliens, though they did exploit the town a lil bit b/c of the 1947 'alien sighting' xD

Day 4: went as far south as Shafter, TX, where we saw quarter+ size hail. Ended up staying in El Paso, TX for the night.

Day 5: boring, traveling day. Made it to Colorado Springs, CO for the night [about 650 miles from El Paso]

Day 6: Went to Boulder, CO to visit NCAR [National Center for Atmospheric Research], and then made it up here to Gering, NE [near Scottsbluff] for the night. we are hoping to catch some weather here in a couple days ^^

Day 7: no storms, but visited Mount Rushmore, and stayed in the middle of South Dakota

Day 8: saw a nice storm with nice rotation, but never dropped a tornado. nothing else really besides that, and stayed the night in O'niell, NE.

its about 2 weeks long. sounds like I would be back at Ball State about wednesday/thrusday

Day 9 [yesterday]: Tracked a line of storms that produced tornadoes in southern Kansas, but sadly weakened and dissipated when we got to the storm. stayed the night in Blackwell, Oklahoma

Day 10: no weather, so traveled back to Nebraska, so we mostly traveled and saw a storm chase video in imax at a space museum in Kansas.

Day 11: traveled to Aberdeen, SD to prepare for potential storms tomorrow to north-central/western North Dakota.

Day 12: saw a funnel cloud in North Dakota, pretty close to the Canadian border x3
Day 13: still no luck, we got a good lightning show though, and that is the last day of chasing. going back home tomorrow...

Well, I made it back to Muncie w/o seeing a tornado. In retrospect, I am glad to be back. We traveled just over 7000 miles [about 500 miles/day], so I'm pretty beat x3
Will post pics the chance I get to upload the pics on my comp.

It's odd.
it's the only holiday that you want bad weather and you don't seem have got all that much off it.
But if you'd gone away to do sunbathing and engoy the sun you'd probably got hit by the worst storms in a decade.
