Find an anime which you like and try to entice the other AMV Hell lurkers to watch and become a fan of your anime by talking about one aspect of its universe.

Don't be accurate. Lie as much as you see fit with your own fanon, and prepare to retcon like a crazy bitch.
Remember to keep it short, because this is not fanfiction.net, and everyone here has short attention spans.

Queen's Blade
In the world of Queen's Blade, the female breast is seen as a symbol of courage and leadership, and the buttocks are seen as a symbol of willpower (after all, it's the center of gravity of the body, and the point of contact when sitting on the Throne). The female vulva is said to be the gate to the well into the woman's soul, and her Queen Energy. The best known users of using this energy in the series are Melpha and Shigi, who demonstrated the intense destructive power by channeling out the Queen Energy through their Poses!

Chobits
About twenty-five to thirty years ago, the first Persocons (realistic humanoid robots) were created. Engineers succeeded in building reliable, near-perfectly realistic human bodies, but as they moved on the controllers and software, huge debates flared up between the engineers over "realism of personality". The industry was quick to exploit the yet incomplete persocons, but were only able to make sex robots out of them, which sold by the millions.
In defiance the Chobits were built, and worked on endlessly, finally achieving the goal of an intimate robot companion true sapience and sentience at one hundredth the processing power of the competition. Sadly, there was a severe bug in the original Chobits personality software that caused catastrophic data corruption when they engage in an intimate relationship.
Hideki Motosuwa, a computer whiz one day finds a persocon in the trash, and instantly recognizing it to be a Chobit, takes her home and begins working on her, and begins rewriting her software to allow her to enjoy a healthy intimate relationship. Of course, it wouldn't be easy...

Fist of the North Star
In a cheery little world, there's a guy named Kenshiro. He has lots of great friends and they all have cool adventures together. Then, one day, something bad happens and his friends start hurting his feelings. His best friend Shin even partake in fisticuffs with him and makes Kenshiro's girlfriend move in with him. After this, Kenshiro is frolicking through some sand until he gets tired and is rescued by some friendly folk who live in the desert. At this point, he demonstrates his Magical Powers and saves the village from bad guys. From this point on, him and a group of new pals travel together to save the day and his girlfriend Yuria.

It's a nice little kid's show. You might like it.

Violence Jack
A kid named Akira Fudo get's in a fight with this kid named Lucifer. After this, Akira loses his memories and gets a lot of muscles. He now uses his Fabulous Abilities to help people out after a little natural disaster. It's a cute story about friendship, love, and happiness.

Inazuma Eleven
In a dark, dark world where anything goes, a team of Middle Schoolers get through their horrible lives with the only thing that makes them somewhat happy: Association Football(soccer). The only problem here is that the adults control these games and kids often get severely injured during them. Children have been augmented with super powers and now they have to fight to survive during matches. Team members are often left in critical condition after being faced with special techniques such as the Death Spear and Death Zone. Also, each player has a sort of troubled past. For instance: One kid's sister is in a coma simply because of him playing soccer and her getting hit on the way to his match. Because of this, he blames himself and soccer for the accident, yet he still has to play for the sake of everyone else counting on him. The outlook of this show is pretty grim...

Boku no Pico
This is without a doubt, the best anime I've ever seen. It's the story of a young boy named Pico who's lonely and wants friends. After walking around a bit, he makes a few friends and they become very closely very quickly. Due to the high cost of producing anime, this show was highly tested before it's premiere to make sure people liked it. This assures it's quality. So, if you like stories of friendship and eternal bonds, check this one out.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
The tale of the most manliest teenager you will ever see. He goes around killing angels like he doesn't give a crap about anyone else. And there are these two other chicks: Asuka and Rei. Asuka is one of the nicest girls you'll ever see. And she's German. You can't beat Germany. Shinji (Manly man) is completely turned off by how nice she is and doesn't give a rat's ass about her. And Rei is so apathetic that it causes everyone around her to immediately be friendly towards her. Shinji is obsessed with her due to how much she reminds him of his mother, who is totally not dead at all. And Shinji's dad wins father of the year in every episode. Definitely the most heartwarming story in anime. No reason to pass this one up at all. =P

Baccano!:
The most coherent, well told, and safe for work anime around. It is a very serious anime with almost no fun it it what so ever but that is good because it's story is done in such a coherent manner it makes up for all the seriousness. Everything in the anime is so happy with no violence or anything scary in it, also everything in the anime is explained and it's not confusing at all at any time :D

Ranma 1/2: one of the first digital painted anime series of the 90's stars Junior archeologist Ranma Saotome. 3 years ago, while searching for the true origins of the hebrew faith, Ranma finds himself in the cursed lands of Jusenkyo. Ranma and his team unwittingly open a doorway to Dimension-X, freeing his evil doppelganger, Ranko to this world. Now, after years of training, he has come to Nerima looking to re-seal Ranko and her minions, the Kunos, before his time runs out.

The anime was also Rumiko Takahashi's final, and shortest series, spanning only two manga. Filler and gag episodes were added to extend the series to a total of 12 episodes, yet failed to cover some very important plot points from the manga ( "Why are the Kunos afraid of watermelons?") Other changes, such as the romantic connections between Ranko and Ranma's sister Kasumi, were removed to have the series appeal to western audiences. Over all a good watch.

Pani Poni Dash!
If your'e tired of the silly nonsensical slice-of-life/school animes like Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star then look no further. Pani Poni Dash demonstrates school life on an almost morbid level. Rebecca Miyamoto is the tragic hero of the series who is trying her best to fit in with an adult society full of standards. She is only 11 years old yet has the job of teaching a group of misfits how to become respectable members of society. Her students all have problems of their own and each must overcome the hardships that come with their problems. This is an anime not for the weak hearted and will even make the manliest of men cry. If you're looking for a slice-of-life anime without any of that comedy B.S. and a deep sense of seriousness then this is the one for you.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
A magical love story set in an alternate version of our world, where angels, demons, and gods lived together with humans.
Eighteen year old geek teenager Briefers Rock has just been posted to Daten City, the city of angels as part of a student exchange program.
During his stay, he falls in love with an immensely popular angel teacher, Panty Anarchy, who reminds him of his late mother. What starts off as a crush eventually grows into a mulit-way struggle between Brief's psychological trauma, Panty's less than innocent past, her conflictingly righteous and jealous half-sister, and the social complexities of an age-disparate, angel-human, teacher-student intimate relationship.
Panty & Stocking is one of the best shoujo anime out there, and even guys (who like realist literary classics like Katawa Shoujo) should definitely check this one out.

Excel Saga
To the average citizen of the One Empire, the LaCroix seems to be the most dangerous assassin clan and terrorist group to have ever existed. However, to the sworn followers of the LaCroix, the One Empire is guilty of being one of the most underhandedly draconian regimes to have ever reigned. Following the lives of the suffering people, the uncompromising politicians and the two of the world's deadliest female mercenaries, Excel and Hyatt, Excel Saga offers a view on the ensuing political upheaval from two opposing sides.
A definite must-see for those who liked George Orweill's 1984 and George R R Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice.

Bible Black
Crazy Japanese-style over-the-top parody of the Bible, religion and politics, and probably the furthest one has gone making fun of each and every one of the world's major religions (including Scientology) without sparking violent protests, lawsuits or violent lawsuits (partially because it is just so Japanese-ly bizzare). Also has one of the cutest and most adorable depictions of Satan ever.

But in a world where people can be anything, and anything can be a person, the truth she uncovers may not be the truth she expected.

Mazinkaiser

A dude who totally ripped of Yugioh's hair fights a hermaphrodite and an old guy with a robot that ripped off both Gundam and Gurren Lagann. Also, the titular robot can shoot missile penises which he stole from Godannar.

Mazinkaiser SKL

The direct sequel of Mazinkaiser where every major character returns and has to play Survivor with giant robots. Oh, and the two dudes from Street Fighter appear. Of course, Ryu and Ken look really different in this anime.

Rokushin Gattai God Mars

A blatant ripoff of Knights of the Zodiac and Voltron. It involves Japanese Elroy Jetson beating up Space Greeks in a giant fighting robot.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime
Shiki, a boy who can destroy anything by cutting it up into a million pieces with a semi-rusty pocket knife.
Arcueid, a badass sparkling immortal vampire lady who has powerful destructive and regenerative powers.
Together, they take on an infestation threathening to wipe humanity off the planet, led by the almighty shape-shifting and self-cloning Nvrnqsr (Nero) Chaos. Even if you don't like this kind of dark, gritty, edgy anime, Tsukihime is worth checking out just for its fight scenes. Definitely watch if you want to see the craziest way a wolf monster gets dismembered.
Another note: Stephane Meyer might have been watching this when she wrote the first Twilight, due to similarities of Edward to Arcueid, except Edward is far less badass and much more of a spoony bard.

Bokruano
Put together the kickass powers of Getter Robo and the friendship of My Little Pony, and you get Bokurano. What starts off as a silly parody of classic shonen-mecha anime where random schoolkids get chosen to pilot a bipedal superweapon (they actually get kidnapped by Japan's Salarymen in Black and shoved into the super robot) grows into an unforgettable tale about the power of friendship and even more alien invader ass-kicking.

Strike Witches
This is one of the greatest war animes ever made. A society where young girls are looked down upon and forced to wander pants-less has been turned upside down. The males in the world have utterly failed at everything in defending against an alien attack except for one thing: They created the strike unit. Now young girls exhibiting a trend towards furries are forced against their will to fight at the beck and call of the inferior, yet ever present male military factions. They provide no support to these girls who risk their lives daily. I would like to say that there is something sexy about this anime, but the lack of fan service in favor of the inner trials of each character and the abounding Matriarchal themes guarantee that you will be fully engrossed in the plot the entire time. This is not an anime to be missed, especially if you are a fan of the deep and engrossing political stories prevalent in so many war anime.

Gintama - The most stereotypical shounen anime ever (Gintoki). The main character is a happy-go-lucky idiot who is always stuffing his face and saving the day. He is constantly full of energy and always helps out anyone in need while showering them in positive reinforcement. Gintoki constantly comes across new bosses and spends many episodes training up his new super move so he can defeat his enemy in an epic 10 episode battle full of tragic backstories and drama. The rest of the crew are also very common characters, Shinpachi is a hilarious goofy sidekick who is always making hilarious remarks and getting into zany situations while Kagura is walking fan-service. The show follows a very linear storyline and though it blatantly copies typical shounen aspects it always puts its own unique spin on things rather than just straight out copying other shows. A great action adventure show with some nice comic relief from Shinpachi to help break up the tension once in awhile.

However, they lived with their foster human parents happily, and coped well with the rest of human society. But one dark night, Sammy was kidnapped by a mysterious masked woman in a dark cloak, who vanished before Ricky's eyes, along with his brother.

The only clue Ricky has is a mysterious phrase uttered by the woman before she disappeared: "Seven Moons".
The disappearence of Sammy was quickly made known to the police, who revealed that Sammy has to be rescued as soon as possible, as the Seven Moons are planning to corrupt Sammy's mind into awakening his supernatural powers sealed away in his Baasen blood, then use him to advance the Seven Moons' plans to destroy the world as we know it. Ricky will be working with Sonny, the top detective of the super-secret special operations team, the Five Stars.

Paradise Kiss
Eighteen year old Yukari Hayasaka is destined, just like many other ordinary Japanse girls, for university, marriage, a job and raising a family. However, fate opens up a door for Yukari to a far more glamorous lifestyle when she accidentaly meets the Paradise Kiss, a group of aspiring fashion designers who find her to be a very suitable model for them...
Paradise Kiss is an incredibly sexy anime, ecchi yet suprisingly deep and emotional. It might seem sensationlist to reveal that Yukari has sex with all the different members of Paradise Kiss, but it is better than it sounds. A true ladies' anime that would make guys cry manly tears. Contains yuri.

Witch Hunter Robin
Hilariously and outrageously fanservice-laden series about a team of top-secret witch hunters who go about hounding people who practice magic for outrageously evil reasons. The lead hunter, Robin routinely uses interrogation techniques which somehow involves groping or smothering the suspect's face with her (secretly endowed) breasts. Very probable inspiration for SNK's Dokidoki Majo Shinpan.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam
This is the high point of Gundam's politically charged run. All the nations are divided and you are treated to the best dialogue of any of the Gundam series. Stereotypes are not welcome in this anime as it shows just how individualized each character is regardless of their heritage. There is an air of epic among the fights and they are made even more epic with the yelling out of attacks, a call-back to Super Robot anime. The main draw of this series is how serious the show takes itself and how all of the characters are fighting for the most glorious of reasons. Master Asia is definitely the best hero of any series. If you came here looking for silly, this is not an anime for your likes. Go watch another Gundam like Z Gundam if you want silly.
