edit: oh my favorite character is Maka's dad Death Scythe. He was one of the funniest (not to mention one of the strongest) characters in the series. Also he had to put up with Stein he had to be someone awesome to deal with his experiments.

Antagonist pretty much means the opposition to the "Hero" called the Protagonist but the protagonist doesn't have to be good. Take Death Note as the example Light would be the Protagonist while L would be the Antagonist because he is the foil to Light
