Trying to avoid spoilers:
Halo 2 - "Don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it"
Halo 3 - Both control room scenes and before and after the end credits (The entire end sequence).
Gears of War 2 - When Dom find's what he's been searching for, also when you think something bad happened but it really didn't (during the end sequence).
Fallout 3 - The Purifier scene midway through the main quest.
Call of Duty 4 - The end scene.
Modern Warfare 2 - When you and a certain spirit go up in flames.
Code Geass - The end when Kallen is staring at Lelouch's picture and in general most of the moments they have together. Oh and the part with Lelouch and Rolo in the forest/****pit was touching (and I for one hated him).
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Endless Eight for Yuki.

Lets see When Alice dies in Shadow Hearts, bad ending
The 360, where to begin, the lackluster library of exclusives, Most of Microsoft business practices concerning the console (I guess it was clever to release a bunch of exclusives RPGs near the beginning, even if only two turned out to be any good... both of witch where timed exclusives, but just riding the momentum is really making 36o owners feel like there investment), defective at launch, missuse of Rare (Dammit MS where the true next entry in the Banjo Kazooie series)
Cross Edge, This as got one of the worse RPGs I've played. In contrast, the hollow up Trinity Universe was quite good
Blue Dragon, another outstandingly bad game
the motion control fad
Nintendo's third party support
Companies attempts to keep the PS2 alive (I know it's the greatest console ever made, but it time to let it go, let the PS2 rest in peace)
Magikano, the fact that such a putrid thing exists is sad
The Yakuza series, it's sad that so little have played these great games (okay so the first one was actually pretty bad in everything but story, but Yakuza 2 and 3 where really great games)
Deadly Premention, sad on two counts, not a lot of people played this great game, money that would have been used to port the PS3 version was instead used to rewrite the story because it was to much like the show Twin Peaks.
Most of the anime based on games (admittedly I like Disagaea)

I still cant figure out why people like those shows, but thats off-topic.
its sad that so many games use the Unreal Engine, and the source engine for that matter, whats even sadder is that the developers dont even feel like upgrading them.

09-08-2010, 02:27 AM
I found Madworld to be boring, but House of the Dead: Overkill was delightfully camp, it's sort of like if Robert Rodriguez suddenly decided to start designing games
Wtf are you talking about, I get an update on steam about every week and half because they're updating the Source engine, also what's wrong with using them? The unreal and Source engines are fantastic tools for game design that cut costs immensely while still allowing developers to fully realize their vision.
LOLWTFBBQ
09-08-2010, 04:31 AM
I just think the source engine is cheap and should be upgraded (and when I say upgraded I mean make a whole new one), yes I am prejudice against it, but I guess its just cuz I dont like valve, and often alot of the updates are for bugs, much like alot of other engines. if only they would focus on making games instread of patching that underdeveloped engine... but I dont know much about valve so I shouldnt talk smack. I probably dislike the unreal engine because its overused and the #1 competition to the CryEngine.
Madworld looked kinda funny actualy, but it might give me a seizure.
I forgot about HOTD:O, interesting game. its like an arcade shooter but with gore and the most curse words of any game on record

09-08-2010, 05:04 AM
i prefered mad world to the house of the dead of overkill.
overkill was just that and the end was just a bit to weird for my liking.

The 360 has only enough power to run many of its 1st party games at 576p, unscaled to 720p. Now if the game doesn't have alot of action going on, like an XBLA title, it can get 720 or 1080 natively. The PS3 can get 1080+ natively. But who cares which one is more powerful, get the one with the games you want to play. I got my ps3 for MGS4, DMC4, and many other games. Now I am glad I still have it because of PSgroove.
Ok, enough of that
Back in 1994 when the CEO of Atari threatened to sue Sony if they released the PS1 under $300 claiming it would fall under price dumping laws because the Atari Jaguar was still more expensive yet less powerful than the PS1 (64bit my ass). They released it at $299 and Atari didn't sue. THAT was a sad moment in gaming history.
Here is another one. Bernie Stollar (Former CEO of Sega) said "RPGs will never sell in an American Market" in an attempt to defend his decision to not localize a lot of Saturn blockbusters which were keeping the Saturn ahead of the PlayStation in Japan, later that year Final Fantasy VII came out and proved Bernie Stollar wrong, he still stands by what he said to this day.
The Apple Bandai Pippin, enough said.

The emulator would allow the PS3 to "think" it is a Wii, thats how emulation works. by doing this, the execution of wii software on non-wii hardware such as PCs or PS3s would be possible...to an extent.

Yes, to an extent. Emulation is just software, it has limitations usually based on the need for specific chip sets, which is why emulation of the Sega Saturn has been difficult. Maybe software emulation is enough for the Wii on PS3. A guy got a Dreamcast emulator running at almost full speed using only one of the 8 cores in the cell processor with software emulation. The other option would be total virtualization meaning running the Wiis operating system on the PS3 along side the PS3 OS for better compatibility, but that would be illegal and difficult to do.

If you're Emulating the Wii OS for the purpose of Wii games then you're screwing Nintendo out of well earned money. If you're emulating the Wii OS for the download and play of a N64 game or other older Nintendo system then you might as well just get the specific emulator needed for the game. And besides to Emulate the Wii OS you'd basically have to write the entire source code from scratch, which will cause issues much like mentioned with the game cube unless of course you are a professional programmer who's dealt with the PS3 OS enough to understand it's code and how to add the Wii OS without screwing things up. There's also to consider the Blue Ray player. You'd have to program that to be able to read a Wii formated Disc, again not an easy thing to do. And then for my random hate. I don't know why you'd want to do that any way because the PS3 sucks. PC is more capable and better in the first place and if you must have it on a TV then find an emulator for the 360 its simpler especially when you consider that its Microsoft who makes the 360 so therefore the emulation wouldn't be too much more difficult on the 360 than it would on the PC

I'd disagree with the PS3 sucking, and yes I'm a huge PC gamer: It's really the 360 that sucks, it's trying too hard to accomplish things that can only really be done on a PC (I could go on but is really the only thing that needs to be said in this context) at least the ps3's game base is mostly composed of games that you either can't do well on a pc (fighting games will always be better if you have a controller of some kind so you may as well make them for a console) or are games that are traditionally not released for pc (JRPG's, TRPG's and SRPG's)
Also, why bother with the herculean task of making a wii emulater: THE WII ISN'T THAT EXPENSIVE

I don't want to start this argument again. So all i'm gonna say is that i agree with the point that the Wii isn't that expensive
