So i've decided I want to make my own spin of version.
as suggested in the title of the thread it will be for school themed animes.

so I'm looking for videos to make this happen.

I've added all the mentioned anime to the first post will be adding additional rules.

submissions will start being excepted from october 1st(hopfully) unless stated Otherwise
the submissions window will be open for 4-6 months.
putting all clips together and doing credits should take about 2-3 weeks depending on work.
This progect has an expected launch of april 2013 and will be hopfully be between 10 - 20 minutes long.

If you want something legal, use Wax (http://www.debugmode.com/wax/download.htm). If you don't care about that, just google a torrent for Sony Vegas Pro 10 and fire that thing up. I can help you with the latter if you choose to use it.

Don't worry about the clip length it was a typing error on my part clips can now as short as 5 seconds to 40 seconds long.

480p would be for the best. High Definition resolutions such as 720p and 1080p would take a long time to process, seeing as how long this video will probably be.

That, and a lot of source footage will probably be 480p to begin with. Upscaling it to 720p or 1080p won't necessarily make those clips look any better.

quick update well i started ripping my anime dvds and realised I hadn't turned some off the subtitles off.
not the main subbtitles you the little ones that pop up to tell what a sign or word on a building or book says.
so Yeah I'm going to start from scratch,So thats another delay to this project.
i've been rather inconsistant with my updates on this.
but I have holidays in march and I've decided I'm going to try and do 3 things
1 get this going properly
2 watch game of thrones season
3 watch battle star gallactica season 1-3
the later 2 are for my breaks.
I'm going to be stopping subbmisions again while I try and get this moving at my end.

You're probably better off with DVD Decryptor or Magic DVD Ripper, but do what you gotta do.

I use DVDfab to get it my HD. MeGUI to Index. and Virtualdub to make and edit-able avi.
I use WinAmp to convert my audio to wav (as needed).

In any case, give us a head-up when you're ready to get rolling with this, and I'll see what I can come up with for you =)

yeah it's a pet project that I've been screwing around with but I'm realy going to focus on this,I've decided that I'm going to take it abit slower If I push It I can rip about 26 episodes every 8 hours - ripped 13 episodes yesterday,I know I said I was going to go straight from 9am til 8pm but I got borded after 4 hours of making sure it was ripping properly.
So My end is going to be bit a slower than anticipated.
but I will be taking submissions starting next monday my new time frame is now a christmas launch i know it's like a year late,But I decided if i'm doing this i want to try and make a goood effort of it.
So i'm going to pace myself and work at my own speed an hopfully I'll have an awsome intro and ending.

other news,I said I was going to do an action and a mech version.
dropping the mech one lost interest in the idea.

while ripping dvds I was using the internet and realy pushing my laptop so a lot of the footage I ripped suffers from being jerky or the video just freezes so I'm going to have to start from scratch.

i've had 2 donations so far.I've also managed to do an intro and i've cobbled the credits video i'll be using it's a montage if some off the amvs in amvhell school edition.

I just went back an looked at the date of the opening post the 25/8/2012 man I realy have been lazy and lacking in the creativity area
1 year and 4 months later it'll be launched for better or worse - most likely the later of those.

I was hoping to get the quality down and sorted early on but ended up struggling with it and ended up getting frustrated and losing interest in the project hende the reason there isn't alot of footage and some of it was ripped as mp4 so some of the videos are low on the quality some were ripped as mpeg 2.

the quality of the footage and audio may be good but the whole thing is proabably goodish

i mean I enjoyed making it, I just wish I'd had more ideas early on and stronger motivation.

I know I said I wasn't going to bump the thread but it appears that I have managed to break my laptop.
first i managed to spill tea on the key board
then I tunes played up, then my keyboard stopped working properly so i stupidly hit my computer than things just got worse then I hit it again then it blue screened, it did tried to do an auto repair but that yeild nothing, it wanted to restore to thelast time it worked properly,but I have no idea when that was.
now it won't load up the os and sometimes makes high pitched noises.
so the short of it is i ****ed up my laptop and amvhell school minis will probably not see cthe christmas launch.

- That intro went on way too long.
It reminded me of the original amv hell 6 in fact. It was going somewhere epic, and
once it reached its point it just didn't know when to stop. Also, it's jarring when you know enough about the anime to realize raw footage minus any editing was shown for
like 10 seconds at a time.

- The Watamote clip rubbed me the wrong way. I just saw that anime and knew exactly what that death note
audio was for. That's just uninspired.

- I found that metal gear solid clip with the infared sight and somewhat synch's sounds kinda interesting.

- I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!?!?!?!?

- What the hell was with that last K-on clip? Was that audio supposed to go over the BGM?

Overall, it's not the worst thing ever as there is certainly effort put forth in this project. It just falls short to me in regards to entertainment. However, keep in mind
that's just my opinion as i don't see why others wouldn't find this entertaining to some degree. I hate to go the American Idol route, but i just wasn't feeling it dog.

There's room to improve and with everything said you went well over my expectations.

the intro, In Hindsight it is to long and the end was poorly made wasn't sure how to close it.

The watamote clip was one of the 3 submissions I received.

yes the last k-on clip the audio is supposed to be going over the BGM.

I was just messing with the black rock star shooter clip and decided to add it to the end of this project as I kind of liked it.

I guess Instrumental tracks aren't for everyone.

yes I need to improve as an editor, Hopefully I will because for the most part this is a rather mass excuse of video, the only clip I'm proud of in this is the angel beats/titanium

Another thing you need to improve on: the credits. While I didn't have too much trouble myself, I can see lots of other people having trouble figuring out that "Jinzo64" is the editor, "K-on!" is the anime, and "Crayonpop - BarBarBar" is supposed to be the song artist and song. You might want to make it slightly more obvious what the words on the screen are supposed to be. Especially for the Opening and Credits. I doubt "Opening" and "Credits" are actual titles for actual anime you actually used.

At least one of the skits were either placed in the wrong order, or were missed entirely. I know for sure that the skit in-between the "BarBarBar" K-on! clip and the "Titanium" Angel Beats clip is missing (unless you put it somewhere else on the list).

One of the credits labels a Clannad skit as the anime being "Shuffle!" (the fire one). Unless Shuffle! really does have a scene that looks EXACTLY the same as Kotomi's backstory? Not sure if any other credits are mislabeled (whether song title or anime....I'm assuming [read: hoping] the editor's are all correct).

I guess since I made the credits I understood how they were meant to read, I hadn't realised this might not be not be the case to people how hadn't made them, I m sorry for the lack of clarity between the editor,video and audio sources.

that's my mistake I really thought it was shuffle, but looking at it now you mentioned I think you might be right.

I know it just ends but it was origionaly going to be in the amv it's self but I asked haar what he thought about a 2 min video being in and said it was to long so I decided to stick it on the end. I kinda made and I just wanted to use it.

The good thing is, the worst is over. This wasn't really all that good but that means that you have nowhere to go but up from now on.

A few suggestions right off the bat, don't make a 6 minute long intro, 2 mins or less is perfectly fine. Get yourself a TV Transition or something like it, they transition you used was waaay to distracting.

I agree with all of this, I was to head strong especially on the use of that intro it took so long to make I just wanted to use it.

That's fine, there's nothing wrong with trying something different, it was just a bit too distracting. It didn't feel like a transition. It popped up in your face and distracted you from what was going on, rather than transitioning from one scene to the next. If that made any sense. Personally I've always been fond of the TV Transition, so I'm probably just slightly biased towards it.

I Revised Amvhell Minis School Edition I've been doing this for the past week mainly the credits trying to improve them.

dropped the intro and went with my original Idea of using the deathnote watamote clip as the intro.

also replaced the transition with the t.v static.

so hopefully it'll be more enjoyable to watch.

p.s the grammar in the credits is probably still sucky sorry about that.

and I didn't do anything to change the black rock star shooter clip that comes after the credits.

p.p.s hopfully the credits will right this time with nothing missing and all the animes having there correct names.

Sure, certain sections looked a bit blurrier than others, but I knew what I was looking at and hearing. So well done there.

On the whole- you could have done more with the school theme, I mean- didn’t the thought ever cross your mind to make the intro a montage of characters running to school? (with toast in their mouths optional)
You were right to replace that stupid, spaghetti transition for the revised edition; the video static replacement is fine and all, but did you even consider using something like a class bell for a transition? Think about the theme.

This isn’t a stab at thedarkmessenger- but did you learn nothing from “AMV Smackdown”, or “AMV Hell 6 the rough cut” for that matter?
If you aren’t completely happy with the thing you’ve made, how can you expect anybody else to be?
It is foolish decisions like these that hurt your chances of ever being taken seriously, or receiving any kind of support for future endeavours like your Bond project.

In this situation- you use the first two clips to establish a pattern, then surprise the audience (and get the big laugh) with the third.

You did this:
(1) we hear a “bloogy-woogy-woo”, girl screams.
(2) we hear a “bloogy-woogy-woo”, girl screams. The pattern is established.
(3) we hear a “bloogy-woogy-woo”, girl screams. Same old crap. No twist. No payoff. Lame.

You should have done something like this:
(3) we hear a “bloogy-woogy-woo”, we expect the girl to scream- but instead- her head explodes.

Don’t bother telling me nothing like that happens in Lucky Star because I know it doesn’t, it’s just an example. (Although it sure as hell would have made the show more entertaining). The point is you needed to do something to break the pattern and surprise us.
This is comedy 101. I know you’re only 13 years old, but even you should understand this.

Fans of Star Wars movies know Pizza the Hutt is a parody of Jabba, so why would anybody make him speak with Jabba’s voice? It wouldn’t be pointing out the hilarious similarities between the two, because the character already does that by design.

The creators of WataMote purpose-built the Death Note reference into their animation from the beginning. Fans of Death Note will get the reference even if they watch the video muted.
The AMV isn’t a clever observation. Vash32 essentially just slapped a big caption on the screen explaining the ”joke” that the creators had already made for us. It’s an unfunny and completely pointless AMV.

It shouldn’t be in your/any project, never mind used for an opening.

no thats my poor grammer coming through when I said I didn't know how to end it I was referring to the overally long intro that became pretty much straight rips from the animes.
the BRS is somthing I made when trying to decide what to do for the intro and kind of liked so tagged it on to the end of the project.

I'm overally harsh on myself and expect that everyone across the board is going to think my work is s**t so I just assume that everything I do is S**t but I really do like my angel beats video.

I didn't learn anything from those projects, the truth I see failure in everything I do, even before I try I assume it's going to fail i have no expectations for myself other than failure and for me failure isn't an option but it's all I'm good at.

The bond project, is a work in progress but it probably won't get any interest, like school minis it'll probably a thing if it gets done.
I really don't blame any one for not wanting to make content for any of my future projects especially with the below average quality of my previous efforts.

If you aren’t completely happy with the thing you’ve made, how can you expect anybody else to be?
It is foolish decisions like these that hurt your chances of ever being taken seriously, or receiving any kind of support for future endeavours like your Bond project.
My biggest problem with Smackdown! is that I felt obligated to release it no matter what, out of fear that I would disappoint everyone if I just scrapped it. Looking back, it would of been a LOT better to just scrap it and apologize. Hindsight's a bitch, ain't it?

I highly doubt I'll do anything like that ever again, ever. Main reason I thought of doing it to begin with was I noticed I had a lot of wrestling-themed clip ideas. I was already kinda planning on making a compilation of my clips, and I figured maybe I'd let other people join in, too. First I tried to force interest that wasn't there, then I forced a video that should of NEVER been there.....

There were several points were I considered dropping this but like dark I felt obligated to see it to the end, now I kind of wish I had dropped it, like dark said hindsight is a bitch.
