So, does that mean that the submission pool was incredibly small and that this video was reviewed by Plebeians that don't know anything about editing or does it just mean that the many editors that contributed lived in all sorts of crazy regions that were too far away from the convention for them to attend and that the video was reviewed by a "legitimate" audience that just happened to not send anything in?

Of course, the editors are all bent double over their computers turning the air blue when the eighth re-adjustment of TDEINT on Avisynth still has visible interlacing, there isn't enough time to attend the conventions too. ;)

I'm glad to hear that there was a crowd to see the showing, though, and in a way the lack of editors is a good thing - you know that everyone there isn't there only because they've already invested in it, and it's a reassurance that AMV Hell still reliably encourages a wider audience.

To be honest I don't know it was announced at the same time as 6 and the live action minis maybe it over shadowed by 6 and the live action minis,maybe zarx changed his mind on,or it might have been canceled due to lack of advertisment which equlaed a lack of submissions.
would be nice to see it make a come back even if it was just for the opening episode of minis season 3.

I watched the AWA cut of AH6 at Anime Evolution this weekend.

My feeling is that the quality has declined since AH5 (which I enjoyed). There were a few clips that were LOL-funny, and two that were genius, but the majority seemed to be "word-association" clips (song mentions "X", anime contains "X", cue laughter).

I don't want to be a hater, I've always supported the AMV Hell series and I know how much work Zarxrax & SSGWNBTD put in. I'm just hoping that the final cut will be leaner. If it has to be cut down to 30 minutes, just do it.

It was actually really good. I made an account just to post this, pretty much.
I was really looking forward to it, it was one of the only panels I went to. (I even came in early and had to sit through the latter half of someones My Little Pony-filled panel).
I felt a bit sad that no-one raised their hands when Zarxrax asked for the contributors to be noticed (it was a REALLY full room)..

Anyway, I don't get how people can say 6 is worse than 5. I really enjoyed 5, I watched it at AWA too.
6 was definitely not worse, but it might be on-par. Regardless, it was good and I was glad to finally get to see it. The room was laughing the entire time, everyone obviously enjoyed it.

Really looking forward to the official release, my little brother wants to watch it, too!

If I did go, it really would only be to see the video. I dislike interacting with anime fans in person, based on my online experiences with them, and I don't think most of them would have anything interesting to say in the first place. Reminds me of a joke I heard about half of the attendees at any given anime convention being crazy fat men, the other half being female, half of that half not being ugly or fat, and then only half of the people in that half not being lesbians. Never cared enough to check and see if that were true, though.

That's not a problem really. Quite a few members here don't make AMV's. But if you ever decide to dabble in it. Get yourself a copy of Vegas or other decent NLE (non linear editor)

Add Video, Audio, and your creativity and mix well.

Given how AMV Hell 6 is supposed to be shown at Anime USA on Saturday night (and the fact that Sandy affected SSGWNBTD finishing it), there's four possible scenarios when it comes to the screening there:

1. The final project will be finished before the con and be available before it happens;

2. The final project will be finished in time for the con, but will not be available until after the Anime USA premiere (or will be up while the convention is going on);

3. The final project will not be ready in time for the con, but it will still be shown (in the form of the version that premiered at AWA);

4. The final project will not be ready in time for the con, with something else (possibly more My Little Pony videos, as it's scheduled to be shown after Ponies: the Anthology II) taking it's place (the least likely, since it appears that there's going to be at least a "rough cut" version being shown at the con).

It's.... possible for a kid to make a good AMV. I've been meaning to test out this theory, though. My younger cousin owns every episode of DBGT on DVD and I'm going to see if he can defy logic and pull something of value from that show.

Now, let's look at this from a different perspective. Add 1 and 5, divide the result by 2, and you get 3. I don't think this will be as good as AMV Hell 3, though. Not to say, AMV Hell 3 was perfect, of course. I just don't' think 6 can live up to it.

I'm bad at getting it done on time, as of late. That's why for my live-action project, I set a number of slots instead of a date.

In short: stop asking. As mentioned before, each time someone asks, it's delayed a day. The additional delays are as fatal as time itself. So, in the month and a half since AMV Hell 6's announced release - early October - about 7,300,000 people have died - and around 160,000 people die each additional day it's delayed.

In short: stop asking. As mentioned before, each time someone asks, it's delayed a day. The additional delays are as fatal as time itself. Forget about AMV Hell 6, and when it comes out, it'll be awesome. Or ****ty. Or something. It'll be a fresh AMV Hell with which to waste an unspecified portion of your day.

I'd actually agree with you on that, but I still think they genuinely might have had a few hiccups making this thing.
