I would like to burn soft subbed mkv anime to DVD to watch on my tv. What is a good free conversion software that will keep the subtitles?

What would also work is a DVD burning software that can use soft subs.

I have no way to verify that this is a good method/program, but it seems to have what you're looking for

I'm using XMedia Recode and I am highly pleased with it.

DVDflick apparently can't use "graphical" Subtitles, looks like conversion it is.

still having subtitle issues. Looks like this may just be a dead end.

Yeah, those fancy typeset subtitles that move/change color aren't compatible with DVD subs. Throw it into MediaInfo, if it says SSA/ASS it's not going to work with any sort of DVD authoring program. More Linkage:

*EDIT*
Installing VobSub will break existing codec packages like CCCP. Re-installing the codec pack should fix it though.

Could just go my route an hook up your pc to your tv with an hdmi cable. Also if you have an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 you might be able to get it to work by putting it on a flash drive but it would depend on the codec I don't remember what they support though.

I normally do that, but right now I don't have that option.
