I liked a lot of those and unlike AMV HELL 6 the video quality seemed consistant. Lots of lip/audio sync problems.

Also unlike AMV HELL 6 Rough, this was full of songs I've never heard before (something I liked about the previous AMV HELL was hearing new songs)

Pretty well made guys. There were a few excess clips and a bit of lip sync issues. Alot of nice short funny clips and some good jokes.

This movie actually made me chuckle/smile so I guess it did its job. 8/10 good job

I expected a "That's a huge b*tch" clip for the giant Rei/Angel in 2.22 XD

One thing, the intro was great, but that FLCL clip around the middle that uses the same song shouldn't be there -not because it's bad, but because it cheapens the intro which served as a perfect introduction to this clip-show.

The submission rules were to be as original as possible along with the basic amv hell type rules except we tried to actually stick to the rules instead of stretch them...so it seems that we hit the nail on the head with that one. Besides these are Anime Music Videos not Anime Voice Over Videos.

The credits are in two of my posts above but I believe N.P.C.C. did the soulja boy clip and the electronic music clips I think about everyone had at least one so you'll need to check the credits for specific ones. Lo1337a had the long one after the intro, N.P.C.C. had one using a remix of Fly Away, Lo1337a had another longer one with the Dead Leaves clip, Havrd probably had 3 or more at the least with all he submitted while Lionforce1337, Speedlemon, Anime_Freaker, Boneheimer, HaarTheDragonlord and I didn't have any electronic music clips.


One thing, the intro was great, but that FLCL clip around the middle that uses the same song shouldn't be there -not because it's bad, but because it cheapens the intro which served as a perfect introduction to this clip-show.
Havrd made both of those. Well he made the primarily intro amv after all that evangelion stuff I threw in. I was hesitant to keep the FLCL clip in but Havrd worked hard on it and I shortened it anyways so I decided to keep it in out of respect.

Working with a cheap laptop from 2011 over here. I can barely run The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion at lowest settings, and that's an Xbox 360 launch title. This encode would've taken me days, if not a week.

I may be late to the party, but I have to say, everything Gainax makes is amazing and you only did to make it that much more awesome. Noticed some Redux'd clips in there from AMV HELL 6's rough cut, but that's to be expected. The community's grown so small that some material just has to be recycled. Otherwise, putting the credits about 45 minutes in seems like a somewhat bad move if people don't know the shows all too well. Overall this does better than AMV HELL 5 did. And that's saying a lot considering it was all Gainax sourced content. But I have to agree with Guts, that final battle fall was waaaay overused. And I'm guessing the "You're Trapped!" recurring song is this AMV's version of the PC Osaka.

I'd love to take all the credit for those but Lionforce1337 made one after he saw what I had done to that point.

Those credits being there made perfect sense when I changed it up but not so much now...something about wanting to end without credits rolling and those who cared enough about them would ether look them up online or go back to watch it. In the end, bad choice was bad choice.

Anything that's indiscriminately awesome, without obscure inside jokes of eschewed references is better than AMV HELL 5 sadly. That even includes the original, unedited version of Trigun: Badlands Rumble. That said, out of AMV movies it's hard to be better than AMV HELL, seeing as how it has the entire genre named after it. A bit of advice is, rework the credits to not be so strangely placed, add in a few dance videos (Gainax makes tons of dancing sequences), and then re-release it as GAINAXXX: DeLuxe.

*cough * so my torrent finally finished (bottle necking, sorry haar) I think it was great the quality was good for most and the vids made me snicker, i found most clips to repeat though was annoying to see a different song for same vid (cause when your watching 4 in the morning your tolerance is low), i loved the beginning though i shat myself when the instant change in volume D: really ripped my nozzle off , question: why credits in during the mid? i was deprived felt sad ;_; only to be happy again but it didn't feel the same the tears where still there then when it did end i was kinda expecting an "oh not yet" ;_; but it never came , but putting it half way unique and what a badass @#$% the police. My fav vid goes to the brilliant editing of putting the Gurren Lagann - pirate trailer together took effort and i appreciated it not being thrown together with the common jokes / anyway lets hear what you got to say haters/lovers/haar :3

Upon watching Gainaxxx again, I have to admit that I did like it, for the most part. Quality of humor and editing was a little off in some parts, mine included, but it was still fairly enjoyable and didn't feel like a chore to watch the whole thing. To this day, I'm still somewhat surprised that Bonehimer wanted to work on that "Now You're a Man" clip with me, since my skills were a bit... lacking at the time he messaged me about it. Might be why I held off on finishing that one until I polished up my skills a bit.

I assume you are referring to the Gurren Lagann/Falling related videos to which I must say each one was different. Different length different scenes in a few only a small amount but none of those simply used the exact same video.

About the credits it was for a few reasons,
1. Who else has done that before? I wanted to try something new. (So its not been done before but now we know why, because its weird there.)

2. To give the video an end end instead of having credits end a video. With AMV.avi I started to test that having a clip after the credits to keep the viewer there to the end of the video not the end of the clipshow. In reflection it would have been better to have ended with something Madhouse related then the movie would have a "Gainax ending" as well as lead into the next project Havrds leading.

3. Because I wanted to mark Act 3 with a clear marker. The first third was a mixed bag of clips most of which are hits on pop culture or widely known sources, the middle was to be longer clips which tended to be more obscure slower paced clips while the third act just had everything pumping at max in yo face to finish it up. More action, mre jokes, more of about everything....then I noticed I didn't include some of Havrds clips so I had to squeeze them in there too....but yeah the credits helped break up the bits. I also used the Eva 2.0 scenes to help with that.

1. What was missing Gainax related I should have included?

2. Should the "story line" of Shinji (the viewer) being forced to watch this continue? I do have more for the story and a way to incorporate it more then it was in this original.

3. As a title is there anything better then Gainaxxx: DD or Double D for a sequel?

4. Do Gainax and Gainax related works belong here solely or should I expand it for multiple types of anime be included besides just works Gainax staff members have worked on?

I can't think of anything related to Gainax you left out. We had bewbs, bots, guns and explosions. Next, pertaining to keeping the Shinji storyline, why not? It's not something we see a lot. As for a title for the sequel, what about "Gainaxxx: To The Maxxx." And finally, don't relegate this solely to Gainax. Make AMV movies for other studios. Say have a separate one for Madhouse or something. That's all I can think of right now.

We did miss a few sadly. There were some like Money Wars which seems to have completely vanished from the internet but we did get a great variety and even pushed the limit on what was a Gainax related anime. I even tried to find a place to buy the Money Wars video just for Gainaxxx but I couldn't find it. I am sure it is out there somewhere it is just not easy to get a hold of along with a few of their older series.

About the Cowboy Bebop scene, I am glad you looked it up Fluffy. I tough you something through a videos primes, neet-o. From the very start I wanted to use that movie specifically but we just had no clips for it so it was tossed in the credits video, properly used but not many people knew that Gainax reached out so far into other series even just for movie deals.
