I'm working on a submission for AMV Hell 6 right now and I'm currently trying to do lip syncing as best as I can. My problem is that when scrolling the tracking line it seems to skip around to .2 millisecond intervals in the clip rather than staying right where I place it. I'm using version 9.0 and am not sure if its supposed to do this but I don't remember it doing this when I was working on it yesterday. Does anyone know if there is a setting I can adjust for this or if its something you can work around?

You can try making a new Sony Vegas file since the settings could've been tweaked for the one your working on. If it still doesn't work, try using a different version of Sony Vegas?

Okay I'm not sure what enabled it but apparently I needed to disable video snapping to frames. With that figured out hopefully I can get this finished by today or tomorrow.

I usually have snapping frames enabled. It makes editing a lot more precise.

Certain things weren't quite lining up doing it that way but I see how it can be better to use. Hopefully I'm not screwing anything up but it seems to be looking okay so far when I preview it.

Make sure you are rendering it and reviewing it. The preview window can be misleading depending on your preview settings.

Yeah, if nothing works I'd just get a new version of tpb or something lol Sony Vegas can be a buggy bitch at times. Have you considered downloading version 10.0? Or any newer versions. If this error continues I think there must be something wrong with the internal files, a glitch, whatever it might be. Last resort would be just downloading a newer version, which is relatively simple.

The problem has already been fixed Shed.

Okay now I'm having that problem where the rendered video is different from what is shown in the preview. It matches up for the most part but at a couple of parts the lips will move when they shouldn't and I have no idea why. I've tried messing around with the rendering and template settings but they always turn out different.

Put your preview settings at best, then scroll through the video, if your computer is good enough you can play it, but most aren't, just scroll through it. You should be seeing what it will render as.

The preview settings would be the template settings right?

I tried setting it to the best quality but it still didn't change anything. After unchecking adjust size and quality for optimal playback it seems to show what I was seeing in the rendered version though so I guess I'll have to go back through the entire thing and make sure things are matching up again.

This is taking a lot longer than I thought but hopefully I won't run into any more problems. Thanks for the help.

I have had the exact same problem - entire tracks or clips missing from renders, while they work in preview. If you are using an older version of Vegas, like 8, it doesn't play well with Windows 7. Upgrading to 11 fixed MOST problems for me.
