I thought i would start a harem discussion thread with different series such as: Golden boy, Chobits, Love hina.....
And reccomendations for different harem series.

Love Hina was my first harem show. It's a good place to start; the fanservice is there, but it's not NEARLY as bad as a lot of them out there. From there you can choose what kind of harem shows you like (or if you like them at all).

my first harem was a manga called i''s, great manga btw. first harem anime, hmm idk, does high school of the dead count? not that i havnt seen romance anime its not a whole lot of harem, i am watching a supernatural harem anime called sekirei, rly fun show, surprisingly addicting, kinda retarted, crapload of fanservice and tits (like nipples and everything, not worst ive seen tho) but its pretty fun. of course ive seen Ouran but thats not rly a harem.

instead of just tenchi muyo how about all of the tenchi shows like universe, tokyo then you have the spin offs liek sekishi monogatari and dual parallel and muyo gxp. though going off love hina ya gotta remember mahou sensei negima

I hated Negima! It's kinda like Love hina but in a school and it's got this crap about magic or something. I wouldn't reccomend it.

I dont really like fan service so there are very few harems i enjoyed, i guess ouran would be my fav (although its a reverse-harem)

You must not have read the manga because the manga has a lot more ecchi than the anime. The Love Hina manga was my passageway into the world of Otakus.

As for other harems, I also like Shuffle! Negima!, To Love-RU, Kanon (2006) and Higurashi.

Let's not forget AMG. I love it to pieces, especially the main characters, though it goes off on a tangent far too often, in my opinion. Then again, I should give it the benefit of a doubt since I still have a large portion of the manga to go through. (I have seen most of the anime to date, though.)

First harem, like so many others was Love Hina. My personal favorite is Nagasarete Airantou. The plot is light hearted, has plenty of fan-service and its the best reason I've ever seen for a horde of girls to go after one guy. The anime is also really good.

Other favorites include: Umi No Misaki and Omamori Himari.

Love Hina was my first Harem, really funny how I found it. My first exposure was that hentai thats been floating around for years (Someone put it on Limewire [yea, remember limewire?] as episode 30), then I looked for more, found the recap episode, and the one where Naru became a pop idol, bought a bootleg on Ebay for $20, and watched it till the discs rotted, now I have the funimation set.

I watched Negima!, but I have never seen Negima?.

I havent seen Tenchi Muyo either, but I was ahem procuring it off the internet before my external crashed, which had all my anime, TV shows, and moves. as well as the source video files for my amv stuff.

I remember being a young kid not even knowing what anime was getting a tenchi muyo video from the library but then shocked to see they were actually nude during one of the episodes. It was crazy!

Tenchi Muyo is one of those classics that EVERYONE should see...
At least the original storyline, with the movies and OVA.


Without TM I don't think you wouldn't have the level of harem anime you do today.

Hmmm... good harem series... Negima!, Asu no Yoichi, They Are My Noble Masters, Seitokai no Ichizon, and Nyan Koi (all of which I've watched, and enjoyed)

I find harem shows in general almost as annoying as the pointless fight shows.

Clannad is one of the best - because of the sci-fi angle: "and here's what would have happened had he chosen that other girl!" (the whole alternate timeline thing plays out.)
