In the past year, I've noticed a lot of people join the site, so I finally decided to stop lurking and make an account too. From most of the forums I notice only about 30ish people posting on a regular basis, so I thought there should be a thread where all the new people give a quick introduction of themselves and how they found this place as well as anything else they feel worth mentioning.

I guess I should have made an introduction for myself.

Well, there isn't much worth mentioning, I've been a long time lurker of this site, and a pretty big fan of the action/horror/mystery genres of anime making Death Note and Higurashi amongst my favorites, but really I'm just a cynical bastard with a great sense of humor.

As for finding this site:
About 4 years ago a friend of mine finally broke me and got me to watch Anime, and I started with Higurashi. Afterwards, he showed me a Youtube series called Higurashi Hell which is a Higurashi spin-off of this site, and looking for more videos like that, I found this site, and have been lurking ever since.

Well. I'll give my welcome. Been a member only for a month or so. knew about it since shortly after AMV Hell 4 was released.

My first anime? Evangelion.

Hmm... I'd say that I found this place about half a year after having watched all the AMV Hell, just out of pure curiosity. That was about 2 or 3 years ago. I checked in every now and then to see what the members were up to and soon after Zarx had announced his plans to create an mini AMV Hell series. Having just aquired editing equipment, I wanted join and test my chops, but I decided against it and focused more on trying out fandubs and AMVs instead. To be honest, I thought it was gonna die soon due to lack of interest (I had the assumption that Zarx directing this was somewhat obligatory).

Around Minis 5, I just decide "f--k it" and joined up. Pretty glad I did. All my worst fears about this place turned out being fal..... well actually, I got my balls busted pretty hard on one of my first posts. But other than that, it was all in my head and I met there are some really cool, funny and nice people here.

I found AMV Hell 4 about 2.75 years ago, and up until the beg of this year, did i find AMV minis, AMV Hell 0, /0, and CE, and the website. It was very soon after (March '10) that I joined the AMV Hell community.

I am a college student in Indiana, majoring in meteorology and minoring in Japanese. I have been an Otaku for 5.5 years now, and I even have an abridged series on youtube (2nd series starting this year). I have been on here for 6 months and I have had only 1 AMV shown in the minis (1-2 more in season 1). Douzo Yoroshiku [Nice to meet you all].

Well, I joined this site around the end of August 2010 (near the release of Minis 10).

I've been an otaku for about 3 years now. The first anime I saw was DBZ when I was a kid, but my first legit anime as an otaku had to be Lucky Star. Up 'til now, my favorites are K-On!, Azumanga Daioh, Gurren Lagann, & Haruhi Suzumiya. The anime character that I think is the closest to my personality is Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga of Azumanga Daioh (hence the avatar).

I first heard about AMV Hell when I saw Hell 1 at a panel at Otakon 2010 (a month before I joined). I didn't really like it then, but I was curious to watch more. Once I saw 3, that's where I started liking it. I've seen 1, 2, 3, 0, 4, & all the Minis up to this date. I'm even making my own spin-off of AMV Hell (AMVsanity. It's still in the works.).

the first eps are slow probably because Shinji needs to grow a pair. God I hate that kid.

Evangelion would probably be better if the CHARACTERS DIDNT BLOW SO HARD!

The first two eps are slow because there's not much communication or action. Shinji's fash back basically signals the end of ep 2. As for the last 2 eps. They're fine, but i can definitely see how it could leave someone confused if they haven't seen End Of. In truth the last two eps should have been part of the movie or visa versa but End of is still good as a stand alone.

Explanation: If you try and coincide eps 25 and 26 with end of you'll find they fit perfectly as cut ins starting at the beginning of end of and makes shinji's growing a spine only to lose it real fast before gaining it again make sense.

I've seen Abyss' battles with acutekat and I must say, he is incredibly vicious, but seeing that I'm also not the only /b/tard here, I'm not surprised that he is.

Furthermore, I'm surprised that Abyss hasn't showed up to bust my balls, this thread is a neon sign "Hey, all the new guys are here, strike now!!!!"

I was actually shown one of the AMV Hells a couple of years ago by my friend. I had no idea what it was at the time though. It wasn't until spring this year when I was at a convention and they were playing AMV Hell 4 that I thought, OMG I know that! And then in August I saw a preview of Hell 5 at another convention. It got me looking at the website and lately I've been bored and need something to do in the mornings. That's why I'm here I guess.

Why would someone purposefully hunt new people? is that kinda like Virgin Hunting? I was introduced to AMv hell about a year and a half ago. my first anime was either pokemon or dragon ball when i was a lot younger. my first show that i consider a real anime, would probably be gundam 8th MS team.

Well I love anime quite a bit, although lately I've been reading a lot more manga than watching anime. I've known about amvhell for a long time, but I have other things to do and never really reply in forums very often. My first anime was probably something on toonami, since I watched that show religiously when I was younger. I can't remember what the hell it was though. Hey im new here and been excited for amv hell 5 for a while now thought this whole series was amazing so thought id join the forum. Never really done this before so ill probably sound like a retard but w/e. I started watching anime about a 2 years ago my first anime was death note, witch sucked me in, but my favorite was Welcome to the NHK. Ive also been looking for a new anime, i loved NHK because the main character changed alot throughout the series, alot of other animes ive watched the characters are so static, so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for anime.

I've been mooching around these forums for a few years not said a word until recently, waiting for 5 has me frequenting the threads so i thought i'd give it a shot.
My first proper anime was chobits, my favourite so far has been deathnote, BUT i am only just discovering neon genesis and i think it might be vying for the top spot. I'm studying Industrial Product Design at University, with a specialism in Toy Design which is Uber awesome. i live with my girlfriend of 6years n 3 months (today in-fact). Erm, does that qualify as an intro? am i Cool now?
