If you received a text message on your phone that reads:
"It's Death O'Clock, and you've just made your appointment! Time to die!"
How would you take that to mean from the sender?
Also, is it just me, or did anime (Japanimation) just die a sad death? My local comic shops are refusing, or can't find, manga to stock, Barnes & Nobles near my house, and the four other locations I visited, stopped ordering new books and videos, and I constantly find anime DVDs at 99c Stores, Family Dollar, and Big Lots, for only a buck each. I also have noticed that translation houses (whoa, just dated myself there) also have gone out of business, or have greatly reduced their business' size.
Just wondering is all. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As to the first comment: If it's from someone I know, I'd think it was a joke and laugh then talk to them about it over the phone or in person.
From someone I don't know? Assume it's spam and delete it then go about my day as per usual.

Regarding the second one, I personally don't think that anime is a dying medium as of yet... Although there are quite a few companies related to the business on this side of the Atlantic that have indeed begun going belly up thanks to the current global economic situation, I don't think that it's in a state of extreme decadence yet (although, whether that also goes for the quality the series that are coming out these years or not is very debatable...)
Dunno, to me, the interest still seems to be there... It could just be the way the money rolls nowadays...

Where I live manga an anime are still going strong. Though I think all businesses are taking a hit because of the economy. I don't foresee anime going out any time soon, it's too big.
Just steal all of your Japanese ****.

I'd send a text back that said "Bring it!"

Download it from the internet. Yes, you can now download **** via wet-wire, provided you have the right sort of connection.

Point 1. Guess that depends on how or well you know who sent it. I don't think you said.
Point 2. it isn't just anime. it's digital media in general.
DVDs are on their way out, And the future of blu-ray is somewhat in doubt
considering that you can Hulu to your smart TV or through a BD player.
Which almost isnt a bad idea. Saves a trip to Wal Mart for a title that you only watch once.
and then you don't have to make space for it on the shelf =)
