AMV Minis Challenge is completed. The following information no longer applies.
Rules:
1. You may submit only 1 video per Challenge.
2. Videos MUST be 40 seconds or less in length. Less than 30 seconds is preferred.
3. Videos should adhere to the theme of the round. "Troll" videos, or videos which do not adhere to the spirit of the challenge may be rejected outright.
4. Videos must not be adult in nature. Strong language, nudity, overly sexual or ultra-violent material may be rejected.
5. Videos of exceptionally poor quality, including videos created at a very low resolution or that contain unnecessary subtitles or product logos may be rejected.
6. You may not beg or solicit others to vote for your video. It is preferred (but not required) to keep your entry anonymous until after voting is complete.

I'm wanting to participate in these challenges, but I feel like I should use new animes instead of all the old stuff the series has used many times in the past. Kinda torn though, because coming up with jokes is way easier for older animes.
What do you guys think I should do?

Be flexible and use a mixture of both. While using the same old stuff gets stale after a while, being too bold with a bunch of new content is sort of risky and often yields results similar to previously used jokes anyway.

This season of AMV Minis is the challenge season; you'll have to wait and see if it ever turns back to the regular way of doing things in the next season. Will this season end sometime soon? Will the next season turn back to its non-competitive mechanic? Both questions are unknown at the moment. So, why not contribute to the current season at hand, eh?

even with the standard white theme, it's still hard to read. you can see the text, but it's difficult to see what the letters actually are without squinting. And as for your colored text....I actually didn't notice it at all until I quoted the post.

Speaking of text colors, I should change my chatbox color. It looks too much like everything I post is a hyperlink, and that's starting to annoy even me.....

don't make it too dark, either, or people using the dark theme will have to strain their eyes. If you can, switch between the two themes yourself and see how the colors you want to use look like on both.

In the bottom left of your screen (assuming you're using the standard desktop site. Not sure about mobile...) there should be a dropdown box that says something along the lines of "vB4 AMV Hell Style". That's the default theme. Underneath that option in the dropdown (after clicking the arrow), there will be a "AMV Hell Dark", and further down "default Mobile Style", if you want the mobile style on your desktop for whatever reason.

As for the avatar thing....that should be somewhere under either "my profile" or the "settings" link found near the top right of the screen. I forget which one, exactly.



....I should probably go ahead and figure it out myself. Haven't changed my avatar/sig out for awhile now....

Are you just looking to share the video for the community to watch, if so then post it in the AMV Self Promotion Thread (http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?4410-AMV-Self-Promotion-Thread). Are you trying to enter the video in The AMV Hell 2015 Comedy AMV Contest, if so then you should enter the video using the link that was posted in the thread which is AMV Hell Contest Entry Form (http://www.amvhell.com/forms.php?do=form&fid=18). Also if you are doing so, then you should have not uploaded it to YouTube for show yet and it would be best to have it uploaded to something like Dropbox for Zarx to download.
