they suck in that they arnt realistic enough. one element that I look for in anime is REAL CHARACTERS. so when I see Shinji (from enagelion) being a p*ssy, I cant help but hate him, and the rest of them.
and on that note, I also hate any character that lacks emotion, they just suck
