On one hand, whenever I see a video of people cosplaying, 99% of the time they have annoying voices and act like idiots and it makes me want to punch them in the face. On the other hand, they've got the balls to put on those costumes and act like idiots without caring what anyone else thinks, and 1% of the time someone actually pulls off the perfect outfit and sounds and acts just like who they're trying to be. The bottom line is cosplaying is like karaoke: the people who do it are probably having a lot more fun than the people who have to watch the horrible performance.

I don't get why you should hate them. It's not like you could pull off a good cosplay either.

Respect the good cosplayers, and laugh at the bad cosplayers.

The "you couldn't do it so don't judge them" line is old, really old. People have given me that line when I've talked about certain dancers, singers, actors, politicians, and it's just not a good argument. If people are going to go out and do something that they know is not their thing, they have to be prepared to listen to the negative comments that will surely be coming their way.

"Sausage in a book"? Someone explain this one to me, it must be some German thing. I'm assuming it's supposed to mean a fat person in an outfit that doesn't fit them, but I've never seen a sausage that big. Then again, Germany is known for their wide variety of delicious sausages, so maybe the avergae German sausage is pretty big compared to the ones around here. Aaaaanyway', my cosplaying options would be limited since I have brown skin, and most anime characters are white, and I don't really have any favorite characters with darker skin tones that I could pull off. I suppose I could dress up as Aisha Clanclan from Outlaw Star, but no one wants to see that, unless they have some kind of a . . "crossdressing fetish". One of the easiest characters to cosplay would probably be Mr. Popo, but the Black Panthers wouldn't get it and I'd get the Hell beat out of me.

Yeah. Not too many people can pull off cosplaying. Although, that is partially because real people look nothing like anime characters. So it's really difficult to look like someone and be perfect about it. With the whole acting like idiots, I don't know. Whenever I went to conventions I didn't really remember anyone acting that stupid. Maybe I was just in a nicer part of town. I definitely wouldn't hate cosplayers though, because it was awesome to just see someone dressed up as your favorite character. However, if they're acting dumb then i guess you're completely free to hate them in my book.

I've seen some excellent cosplays of white anime characters that were done by darker skinned people. I anctualy have a friend in the navy that was really dark skinned and he pulled off a cosplay for Sora from Kingdon Hearts perfectly. Its all in you atitude.
...ohh and Sausages.

It takes a great deal of courage and personal effort, to just even do cosplay in general, but still you should try to not look like this...

I can tolerate cosplayers who are doing it for the laughs. They're clowns, they know they're clowns, they don't take it seriously, and we should all give them our full support. The ones that really get under my skin . . the ones I want to set on fire, are the ones who think they're acting all cool or cute, but really they're total failures. For example: nerdy weird looking guys in their 20's dressing up like catboys and going around saying "nya". You watch videos of those sorts of people and you're like "Jesus tap dancing Christ this is more painful to watch than the birth of a child.". It's like those American Idol contestants who go in thinking their voice is God's gift to man, but really they sound like a cat being taken advantage of by a whale. It's those people . . that give humans a bad name.

Personally, I respect the good ones who actually put effort into looking like the person.
I don't respect the bad ones who either A. Put costumes together to look "Sexy" when the character was not meant to be sexy... or B. Are grossly overweight for their costume.
Now, I'm not a vision of fit beauty, but I'm not about to go around looking like Spike Speigal or Vegeta like some people have done... it just looks terrible.
