I made this AMV specifically for NDK's (Nan Desu Kan) 2013 AMV contest. The joke is that they award Oscar inspired trophies to their AMV contest winners that are replicas of the character Asuka from the anime series "Evangelion". I had actually wanted to make this AMV for a few years, so when I heard about NDK, I felt that it was the perfect opportunity. And using Code Geass was just too perfect of a combination to pass up.

For "friendly black optimistic advice" (at least I'm sure that's what he said), howcome you didn't use the black guy Lelouch plays chess with at the start of season 2?

Since I hate looking through a lot of episodes for scenes, I had decided to make this AMV with just season 1 footage. And that guy looks like such a jerk that I wouldn't have wanted to use him anyway. I really like the joke of Oghi saying that line with Villetta in the background (since she's the only black female in the series and eventually gets married to Oghi).
