I'm actually a really big fan of Kill la Kill and it's certainly my favourite show of the season. The brief given to me by my buddy, though, was to make a skit like FLCL. FLCL is a highly referential anime setting its action to an indie-J-Rock soundtrack, so it was appropriate to summon that spirit with Kill la Kill which is chock-full of references too. The very episode titles are references to old songs! :)

If anyone's curious, these are the references in question:

1 - Imperial Space Force emblem in Diebuster.
2 - Old man making a skimpy super-suit for his daughter is the set-up to Cutie Honey.
3 - Jules & Vincent from Pulp Fiction are in the background.
4 - Steam-jetting costumes from Kamen Rider Black.
5 - The ED is almost a Xerox of Sukeban Deka ("Delinquent Girl Detective").
6 - The eyepiece rotates like those of the mecha in Armored Trooper Votoms.
7 - twinkling into the distance like Pokémon's Team Rocket, and divers other anime comedies.
8 - The bus is running The Gauntlet of Clint Eastwood.
9 - Mako is posing against the Space Runway Ideon logo.
10 - The mighty shoulderpads are from Gunbuster's Buster Machine.

There's loads more too - the last episode even invoked Lucky Star with a role for Timotei shampoo!

The entries for this round fulfilled their challenge briefs well, but most were still lacking in real, solid laughs.
Not a bad round, but we've still yet to do better than Challenge 3: Misheard Lyrics.

01 - Cuban Jo - Might have been better if the character made the jerky arm movements in time with the "chic-chicky-boom" line. Regardless- first clip and I'm smiling. No complaints.

02 - Weeaboomastic - Couldn't quite catch the line at 46 seconds, but not important I guess. Liked this one.

08 - Typical DBZ episode - Intentional or not, the punch line getting cut off by the transition was a nice touch.

13 - Gangsta'nno - It's a great fit. Strong entry.

14 - Whiteout - The uncomfortable, shifting expressions of the character at the start were amusing. Strong entry.

16 - View to a Waifu - Not bad. The editing was fairly laid-back, I just think you could have displayed your wife a little more... gloriously you know, maybe timed the cuts with the music better. Still- not bad.

17 – Betty Beats – I’m happy you avoided the use of “Sex Bomb” and “What’s New Pussycat”. Thumbs up.

22 - Squid Grill - The 9:02-9:06 section was screaming for some rapid-fire cuts of something Deathly, Devilish and or Evil; simply flapping her lips to the song was a little dull.
At 9:11 she doesn't lip-sync to "(the) world is full of-" but suddenly starts syncing again at 9:12, the inconsistency may only last one second- but it still looked odd.

18 - Typical P&SwG episode - Oh dear, this looks like puke. I can appreciate the irony, but this certainly wasn't the intended effect.

This is my first entry to use the Zarx264gui_3.exe. I followed the guide, quantizer set to 16 etc.
I tested it out after encoding and all looked fine. An MPC save image from the original submission can be seen below, alongside what we all saw in the compilation:

Basically, I ran out of time. The next layer that I would've have done would have been those cut scenes. But with my work schedule as it is... The lip-synch I should've put more time into. It was close when I rendered it here. I think it pushed it a little in the wrong way when it was rendered into the episode

It was because your entry used 10-bit encoding. Its not something you did WRONG, I just lacked an up to date decoder to handle it.
