So I was talking to my great-grandmother today (she's 93), and she was telling me about her first boyfriend when she was . . like, in her teens I guess, she never really told me how old she was at the time, but I guess her father had a habit of slapping her around, and she had told this guy if her father ever found out about them, he'd probably beat her.
So the next day, he shows up at her house, and he tells her father who he is, and that if he ever puts a hand on her again, he'll beat him up. At this point my g-ma is hearing all this and is figuring she's going to get her ass beat again later for this incident. Turns out, her dad respected her boyfriend for not sneaking around and coming to face him man to man, respected him for caring about his daughter's well being, and gave him permission to see her and talk to her.
Long story short, they end up getting married, but it turns out he can't keep a job and can't keep away from the ladies, so she leaves him and moves back in with her dad for awhile. Not exactly a happy ending, but didn't it start off so romantic? :D

Apparently they were poor at the time and low on food, but he didn't want his parents to kill the chicken he had grown to love as a pet. So one evening he woke up after a nap and it was dinner time, and chicken soup was on the menu. His mother said that one of his father's friends had given them one of their chickens, so he ate up. Only after he had eaten the soup did his mother tell him the truth. He said he cried for hours . . Sad, sad stuff.

My grandmother on the other hand, had told me stories that I'm not sure are even true. Apparently, she had met both Santana, and John Wayne. Santana at an airport, and John Wayne at a marina. John Wayne just said hello and waved, but apparently Santana actually talked with her about "socks" for a few minutes before they parted ways. My grandmother's dead now, so I never got to ask her if she was really telling the truth or if she was just pulling my leg. =\

I've never met any celebrities . . The closest times I've come to meeting a celebrity, was once on a field trip back in middle school when we went to go see a motivational speaker who also happened to be the guy who wrote "I Believe I Can Fly", and the time I saw Alice Cooper perform at a local casino here. That place was so small, even in the back rows you could see everything going on crystal clear. He could still sing pretty decent for someone his age, and his daughter was pretty hawt'.

Meh. Your grandma isn't as cool as my imaginary otaku-rockstar-assassin friend (who I named after InuYasha for having nearly the same hairstyle). He goes on the awesomest trips EVAR.

If you want to talk about "impractical", I've been trying to maintain a relationship with a girl I met online for about . . 4-5 years now. I can't even count the times we've broken up and gotten back together again. It's not like she's half way across the world, she's only a few states away, but long distance relationships are hard . . Back in 09 I finally went to see her, saved up the money for an airplane ticket and made sure everyone here at the house would be alright. That was . . one of the best trips of my life, but also one of the worst. The highlight of that trip was probably the sex. I never really imagined it would be that . . intense and fun . . I really, really miss doing that. The thing was, after a couple days being with her in person, I realized she was bat **** insane. I broke up with her for maybe the 20th time once I got back home, and she almost instantly tried to kill herself. I don't think she was making an honest attempt though, since she told me about it. I got a hold of a 911 operator in her area, they took care of it.

So now she's basically in a "group home" of some sort, where they control her every move and her freedoms are restricted. We managed to repair our relationship after she tried to kill herself, but her mother managed to gain guardianship over her after that incident, and she wants her to have nothing to do with me. She is probably . . one of the worst mothers I have ever met. My girlfriend suffers daily in that place from not only the other "patients" harassing her, but the staff members not doing their jobs properly. Thankfully they at least let the patients there have computer access, I talk with her once a day. I've told her multiple times she needs to keep records of all the abuse, but I don't think she's doing it, and she said she's "afraid" to try and contact a lawyer or someone who works in the government that could help. It's a sad situation . .

Meh, I don't plan on having a relationship within my lifetime. Romance is just a cold-hearted bitch...well...she acts that way to me. You're lucky to have a girl that cares about you.

Unfortunately, I don't have a whole lot of crazy old people stories. On my mom's side, everyone's either relatively young or died of alcoholism, and everyone on my dad's side is a bunch of stuck-up Christians that do nothing but sudoku's and crosswords for fun to fight off the crazies. Sorry.
As for girlfriends, I haven't really had that many whackos, except this one girl who's only fear was being single. She had a new boyfriend within hours of breaking up with me. I'm not sour about it, never have been, in fact I'm friends with the other guy, but she was crazy as ****.

'daww, I'm sorry, jinzo. I never really knew my dead grandparents well, my mom kept me away from their alcoholism, so I can't really relate.
