I didn't make an entry for this round, mainly because I don't watch many vines. I had one idea, but I was sure someone else would do it too and I was right. I had pretty much the same idea as number 2.

This episode certainly gave me decent laughs. Just a good effort all around considering how low expectations were for this challenge.

1: Nice pun there. Wish you worked in someone eating the jam and getting sick as i recall happens in Kanon.

2: Excellent! I'm surprised more people didn't do something similar.

3: Nice synch there with the squeak when her hand gets bitten even if it felt a tad disjointed.

4: Very well executed. Fairly easy to forgive that he wasn't black even.

5: ****ing hilarious! Only thing that would have made it better is if it was the girl who was attacked.

6: Wow...That's pretty accurate as to how that message would have gone down.

This video, whilst being kind of funny, showcased one of the main problems I have with AMV Hell lately. If you use audio from comedic source (Like ASDF-Movies, Vines Comedians etc.) try to put a new spin on it. In 9 out of ten cases I have seen so far the original video the audio belonged to was funnier than the clips made with it (especially true for asdf-movie). For example clips 1 and 2 in this: For clip 1 the original is simply funnier and for clip 2: Goddammit it is exactly the same as the Vine, I'm even quite sure, the Pokémon screen used is the one out of the Vine with a white Border to hide the TV. 0,5 seconds of Ouran High School club doesn't make this into your own creation.
Aside from that there were quite some good videos in this that put a new spin on the original Audio.

02 – Pokeymans!? – Bit lazy…

I mean- 66% of the clip uses Pokémon audio with Pokémon video, hardly an imaginative juxtaposition, so Raolin Darkbane isn’t wrong in his/her assessment.
The lip sync could have been slightly better… the Pokémon footage also has those thin black bars on the top and bottom of its picture, it would have looked nicer with those removed.
Kind of reminds me of my old TV when I played my first vidya gaem console, which was obviously a… NO.

Despite these nit-picks- I still laughed. So that’s all that matters.

03 – My Ordinary hatred of Dogs, part two – This may use the same basic gag and video as Challenge #4’s entry 14 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_8zaduTxKQ&feature=youtu.be&t=4m50s), but at least this had a snappier (obviously) and better execution.

Fine as it is- but I wonder if flipping the picture on certain shots might have improved this very, very slightly:
In the third shot, Yuko is standing on the right side of the screen facing left- in the fourth shot however she’s suddenly facing right, which is a bit jarring… to say nothing of the other characters magically disappearing.

The editing here looks very amateurish; it could have done with a second pass. Or third. The picture isn’t even a full 16:9.
Besides the editing, I’m not quite feeling the synergy between the audio and video; the final slap fit, but if Gendo is talking to the kids he is captaining- it might have made more sense to replace Misato with Mari…

12 – Whore Z – Another amateurish looking editing job unfortunately. Surely you noticed the jittery frames before submitting? What editing software did you use to make this?

11 – Mitsudomoe – OK entry. I’m guessing this was the same editor who made 05 and 10 because the blackness appears again yet again… although from 05 to 10 to 11 the number of frames affected does gradually lessen… so that’s improvement, I guess :]

15 – A Certain Top 5 – Good one.

17 – Ali G? – OK entry, although I don’t think Zarx would have bitten your head off if you fixed the volume of the song at the start... maybe nibbled your ear. Also- watch out for the superfluous lip-flaps at the end.

18 – Welcome to the Light – Good entry. If the final cut at the end was delayed by a couple of frames it might have timed a little better. Or maybe not. Whatever.

Comments like “I like clip 25” are all well and good, they just aren’t going to help improve anything. One needs praise and criticism to do better.

Whenever possible I will try suggesting improvements on certain clips- in the hope that my words might influence the editors in a small way and maybe help improve the overall quality of this project a tiny amount…

The lip-syncing in 09 looks less René Laloux now, but it is still very/too rapid in places.

12 looks much better, but it’s still an average entry overall.
When I ask questions like - “what software was this made with?” or “How is a man being thrown into a billboard considered dark humour?” I’m not (always) being vitriolic, I really am genuinely curious and would appreciate an answer after the votes have been counted.

Not really an excuse, I spent a decent amount of time trying to find the title of my vine clip which I got from a compilation. Ended up being succesful.

This one reminded me of the older AMV Hells. Also it stopped people having a good joke and just running it into the ground by going on too long. Through getting tired of editing or just too much waffle after the punchline.

Due to the short nature allowed them to stay snappy. I hope some editors learn from this you dont need to hit the full time allowed for a clip, just go with what gets the punch line out.

1: I enjoy this one, its not a winner. Its just nice.

2: I dont feel that there is much there.

3: Quit nice. Not great. But nice.

4: Very well done I like it.

5: Nice joke, however editing is a little floaty.

6: Very good clip slightly cut off by the next clip transition. Not enough to ruin it i just a slight second extra would have allowed it punch harder.

7: I cant help but enjoy everytime I see. The weird thing is...the visual joke at the end always gets me like I never knew it was coming. Ill probs vote for this one.

8: The clip is done well as side from a little flat at the end. However the jokes not funny.

9: Its a nice idea just sloppy on the editing, mouths are flippity flapping into seizures and the close up of shinji is ruined by a cut away.

10: It wasnt till i looked right now I saw the mouth syncs not that great. However the overall clip is decent.

11: The video had a good lead up however the visual part of the punchline is a flop. Happens to fast and is not very clear.

12: The entire clip is just damned by the audio which is a dude not wanting to yell. Then the clip isnt all that great in the first place.

13: I really like this clip. Well done.

14: I really really really really really really really want that clip to be good. However the editing is all over the placer. I really like the idea and think it would have won my vote if just wasnt so bad, even worse on the end.

16: Its sort of nice and sort of bad.

17: I think the curse of the vine gets this one, it starts off weak due to music being hard to hear. I like the sync on the video and the choice of clip is very good for it.

really? i thought that clip was overrated. I really didn't feel anything for it. I'm starting to feel i have a lot different sense of humor than the rest of the Hell community lol

but, i am a bit happy for taking 3rd and 4th places with 2 of my clips lol

What I meant there is that, while still frame bonuses are always a treat, the effects on the eyes at the last minute didn't really have any kind of significance to me. I interpreted those effects as a way of showing off, hence why I denominated the video as "visually pretentious".

Other than that, it was a decent clip.

what i mean by normal is that the amv mini vine episode of the nge video clip uploaded on yt did not affect that part from being twitchy(despite some areas having twitchy frames),where it still showed one of the frames i snuck in (the angel), i was going for something of a style i saw on youtube with what flash cartoonists do if not subliminal, where they sneak in a frame of something. and by mental breakdown, isn't shinji sensitive and a wimp to use as a joke?

Also, I have heard of these... credits... I hear whispers upon the wind, and yet when I think I have found it, it fades into nothingness, like a cryptic dream in the split second one opens their eyes and transcends back to the realm of consciousness.
Really, I LOOKED. I found credits that ended with season 2 of the Minis from Chaz's READ THE CREDITS ('or I will stab you in the face with a soldering iron' is strongly implied) link. Having heard rumors of his silent wrath and having personal experience with mishandling a soldering iron, I know it's not an object I want lodged into my face. So, there is clearly another source of credits. What is not clear to me is where this is.
