If I had to sum it up, I'd say it's "Dreamscape" meets "Paranoia Agent". One of the most trippy things I have ever seen. It was a little bit unrealistic though, and here's why . . . . . . The 600 pound computer nerd gets the hot girl in the end. That would never happen in real life. :D

Your post is making me curious. And usually when I meet curiosity, curiosity wins.

Paprika was the reason I didn't want to see Inception. It looked like a ****ty Americanized version. Boy, was I wrong...

Of course Paprika was awesome, it had the privilege of being another work of the late great master of anime mind f**kery, Satoshi Kon. Im just glad that I decided to finish watching all of his works just before his untimely passing.

From an aesthetic point of view, I thought it was a fantastic movie. Very imaginative and well-put together. Oddly enough, the story didn't do much for me, which is kind of a shame. It had an interesting premise, at least.

Definitely worth the 'shrooms joke, though. XD I thought it was hilarious, which is funny considering I'm not really one for drug-related jokes.
