Not for the presidency obviously, but just about everything else. They say there's going to be a Republican sweep, the party of the elephant taking back a ton of power in the midst of president Obama's plummeting approval ratings. My question is this: would a Republican sweep be a good thing because you think Obama is taking the country in the wrong direction, or do you think it'd be a bad thing because it could mean a return to Bush-like policies?

I don't really much care for floods. It was quite an awful tragedy what happened in New Orleans years back. D:

considering our President and Governors are little more then figureheads, and our congresses and senators are the ones voting on basically everything, I'm not too worried about this voting season. It's gonna go like all the others, this guy couldn't clean up the guy before him's mess so we're gonna get a new guy to try and do it instead.

Well he also sort of made the mess a lot bigger these past couple years, but I don't want to start an intense political debate here, I agree with you in the sense that politics never changes, just the players. :D

I wouldn't say that. Bush probably ****ed everything up. Except for the whole "zombie protection" thing. That was NECESSARY.

Considering W. had to deal with 9/11, I think we can forgive some of his mistakes, and he had the backing of more than half the country and obviously 2/3 of congress at the time he decided to go to war with Iraq. Obama hasn't had to deal with anything that even closely compares to 9/11, and yet he's already trippled the national debt, and all the "estimates and projections" his people come up with almost always come out false. His presidency is a sinking ship, and I've been seeing a lot of Democrats heading to the life boats. But . . . at least we don't have Sarah Palin as vice president.

This. This sixteen times.

I've always firmly believed that we haven't had a "good" president since Reagan, but Bush No. 2 could've been a great one had it not been for all the crap that went down while he was in office.

Believe me, I'm no Republican. I hate both major parties with a passion. If I was forced to pick a party, I'd go with Libertarian, but let's face it, they're not getting anywhere anytime soon.

I could bitch about politics for hours, even with my relatively limited knowledge on the subject.

I'd be interested in seeing how things would change if someone who's NOT a republican or democrat takes office.
