I realize that this is the most unoriginal idea ever, but I thought it would be interesting to do and I haven't seen any other threads like this (although I'm sure someone will correct me on that). Through some of the games I've realized that there are a lot of abstract animes that not a bunch of people have seen. Therefore, I'd encourage doing something out of the ordinary.

Please read the directions
Let's do this. Give a paragraph with a summary of the plot, another paragraph on your thoughts about the show (plz no spoilers), and a rating of 1-10 (1:sh*t 5:average 10:amazing)
NO REPEATS

Ok?

FLAG

The story takes places through the eyes and camera of a photographer (Saeko Shirasu) chronicling a civil war that is coming to an end in Asia. She chronicles the main factions striving for power, but she spends most of the time with the UN peace keeping forces and their new Mech, called HAVWC (looks like a Metal Gear). The focus is not set on the war or its weapons, but the people itself.

It is a very slow moving series, fans of faster series will find little enjoyment in this 13 episode epic. The story is strong and concise, yet slow and some times it feels like a chore to watch an episode.

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt

From what I can tell a relatively new anime. The story revolves around two "angels" named Panty and Stocking and a priest of some sorts named Garterbelt. With the plot so out of whack (Yes, watching reminded me of Bobo bo, though not as far as that) from what I could tell, Panty and Stocking are sent from heaven to defeat demons and collect these coins from them. However, you will find the two usually doing their favorite activities, that is Panty is usually of having sex with some guy and Stocking is probably downing sweets by the bucketful. But once they spring into action the enemy usually doesn't stand a chance.

If your into the really funny kind of random anime, this would be one to check out. It's a nice break from those other shows and plots that make sense. Probably the most interesting thing about it though is the animation style. At times it seems almost American, or at least when American animation parodys anime. Also the comedy is pure gold. One last thing, DO NOT WATCH WITH YOUNG KIDS IN THE ROOM, VERY ADULT ORIENTED, that being said, if you don't give two flying farts then go ahead and watch it with young impressionable minds.

Rating - 8/10 Better than average

Azumanga Daioh

Azumanga Daioh (or AzuDai for short) is a slice of life anime that revolves around a group of high school girls and 3 of their teachers. Don't let the genre fool you. It's hilarious. However, it can be a bit slow at times in terms of comedy. Still, a great anime.

I like this anime. The comedy's top notch, the characters are pretty wacky, the animation's well done & the dub's pretty good (Except for Osaka. Don't EVEN get me started 'bout her dub voice.)

Angelic Layer

A girl whos mother is missing moves to the big city. Upon arrival she encounters a game Called Angelic Layer where a player controls a doll in a fight. She is mentored by a ****phile, and becomes a great contender in the sport.

Its a pretty good story, the dub is questionable. Its from the same people who made Card Captor Sakura and Chobits, and there are numerous cross overs between this and Chobits.

Bleach

Bleach was good, but the things that made the series good slowly turned into its downfall. The show began with some decent antagonists (The hollows), then it gained storyline, which introduced us to the other soul reapers. In the beginning, the other soul reapers were the antagonists, and the plot was to save Rukia with help from the main protagonists from the beginning of the series. This plot was simple and the Soul Society made great antagonists. After a twist, the storyline changed and was just here to give more depth to the soul reapers and hollows. The series got lazy after the "Save Rukia" arc. The series acted like a broken record, with overpowered protagonists and static characters with no likable traits.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Kai/Rei as well)

In June of 1983, a mysterious series of events occurs in the small village of Hinamizawa during the annual Wantanagashi festival. One person dies, another goes missing. Young Keiichi Maebara and his friends need to uncover the mystery before they experience horrible tragedies.

One of the best murder mysteries I have ever seen. I loved the repeating storyline, and even through out the second series and the OVAs I was captivated. It had that perfect mixture of Horror, Comedy and Suspense.

Dragon Ball Z Kai
Prequel:A young boy from another planet is sent to Earth to destroy everything. He is picked up by an old man. At first the little boy, now name Goku, is violent, but then, after an injury to the head, he turns for the good, and becomes more calm. Present Day: Goku is now a grown man with a wife and a kid. He is finally told bey his long lost brother what he was meant for. After that, there are a bunch of different sagas where he saves the world again and again, then restoring damage with these wish makers, named the Dragon Balls, which grant any one wish.
I loved this Anime, in fact, it got me into anime when it came out in May. I watch the Nicktoons version, which blacks out most of the blood, which is reasonable, But i beg of you, DO NOT WATCH THE CW 4Kids VERSION! They soften it up too much, mostly by removing any sign of death, fighting, or blood, which the entire show is about. (You may have even heard of the Blue Popo which they did in case of any "Racism") If you watch the Japanese version, beware that the subs are a lot harsher than any of the dubs.
I give the Nicktoons version 10/10, Japanese 9/10, and CW 4Kids 1/10.

Hellsing (the bloody manga...or Hellsing ultimate if you wanna watch the anime)

An anime full of vampires (not the gay sparkly ones), crazy catholics, nazis, werewolfs, french mercenaries, and really big guns. A gothic action with a bit of humor here and there and a load of awesomeness.

Allways keeping you on the edge of your seat. The fights and quality of the animation are very good.

Im a huge fan of slice of life and comedy but this is still one of my favs.

9/10 Recomended to anyone.

Ah, an innocent school anime. Maybe its like Azumanga Daioh, the animation is great and the characters are quirky, some good laughs so for (pump pump). Episode 7, ok its starting to get a little dark....its a slight change. Episode 10, what is going on? Episode 12, WHATS IN THE BOX JOKEY, WHATS IN THE BOX?

An innocent show that gets bat**** with an ending that rivals 1965's Incubus with William Shatner in bat**** crazyness.

Koi Kaze

This is one of the most intresting anime's ever.
it's not meant for everyone.

it's about a guy, he's 27 years old, and lives with his father. His father and mother got divorced and his little sister (15 years old) has been living with his mother, so they didn't get to see each other for years.

His little sister starts to live with him and his dad, because her new school is way closer to her father's house. but after a time, the guy realize that he's actually falling in love with his little sister, with a age difference of 12 years. He don't know how he can handle with these feeling, and often reacts very cold to his little sister.

I would give this show a 10/10
but lots of people wouldn't agree with me. because the anime is kinda "hard" in a certain way.
this show is a very serious show, so don't expect anything light and funny.
also, don't watch it if you're into shounen anime's like Dragonball, one piece, naruto and stuff like that. you'll probably won't like it

Blue Gender

A new race of gigantic insect type things are born on Earth. They've managed to exile humans from their own planet into space. A large war is waged between the two parties and lots of interesting stuff happens.

I liked the show well enough. It had a sort of mysterious and adventurous plot. For the first half of the anime you didn't really know what the whole story was and it made me wanting to watch more. Then for the second half it had a more epic feel to it. A group of people trying to stop a mad man and save a space station full of people. All in all I liked the feel of them fighting for survival against impossible odds. The animation wasn't great and battles were descent at best. There were some plot holes. However, those seem frequent in older shows. The ending was rather unsatisfying. Though it did resolve the story I guess. I'd buy it. Worth watching, but not your next favorite anime.

Gunslinger Girl

An organization known as the Social Welfare Agency uses specialized assassins who are little girls taken out of their unfortunate lives and trained to kill, giving them a cyborg body. They are partnered up with a Handler, and form a fratello (brother and sister). The story takes place within this organization, and tells the tale of Henrietta, Rico, Triela, Claes and Angelica.

The show starts off in an interesting way, going back and forth between past and present to give us pieces of the story. You quickly learn about the organization and the children who kill for it. Each one of the characters is interesting and have their distinct personality. Not only that, but the characters develop well and learn throughout the show. Each one of the girls has a different outlook, so it gives you a sense of connection with them individually instead of a group. The plot itself is interesting, providing several twists, sad moments and overall intrigue. It takes us through the past of the girls and you learn how they got there and what makes them who they are. The sound is also done well, suiting the tone of the story and the animation, setting the atmosphere and mood quite well. The animation itself is quite detailed and modernized, showing good effects and detail in key areas.

Overall score: 8.5/10

Now and Then Here and There

This show is about some kid who gets transported to an apocalyptic future, where there is child slavery, rape, pillaging, war, famine, and death. He meets some people, some people die and some stuff happens.

I would say this show is not for children but it has a lot of childish moments and is made by a company that usually makes kid shows. So, it gets confusing sometimes when a Tenchi like character gets beat with a stick and then left in a sewer for a few days.

9/10 because it is a great story and has dynamic characters but it doesn't know what audience it was made for.

Tokyo Majin

A couple of high school student get "The Power" and are dealt the task of protecting the city from demons. People fight and that's about it.

Not that great. The plot was all over the place. Half the time you didn't know why things were happening and the characters acted strange. The main character randomly said in one episode that he couldn't leave this girl that had been injured. Then, five minutes later he came back in, the girl was nowhere to be seen. Ten episodes later she showed back up and had been hanging out with the main guy. No mention of her between there. Stuff like that just happened way too often. It had a plot, but it just wasn't that wonderful of one. The animation wasn't bad and the characters had different and likable personalities. In the end, the last episode didn't conclude anything and was horrible! Overall it was nothing special

6/10
Why am I giving it that high of a score? Because even though the plot was atrocious, I felt it was a show that could have been great had their writer not been a ****in' idiot! Plus, I enjoyed watching it more than some of the better shows I've seen.

Umineko no Naku Koro Ni

A mystery anime similar to Higurashi (They are both technically part of the When They Cry series) The series follows the Ushiromiya family, an immensely wealthy family, who meet yearly on the family head (Kinzo Ushiromiya)'s private island to discuss how his inherritance will be divided and who will take over as head of the family. However, this year is different. With Kinzo nearing his final days, the arguments become more and more heated. Eventually several members of the family are found dead, with a message from "The Golden Witch" Beatrice, a fabled witch who was said to have given the family its wealth. Her message states that she is collecting her debt from the Ushiromiya family, which is everything, including their lives. It also states that she will immediately cease collecting if the family can solve the riddle of her epitaph. Immediatelly, paranoia ensues and the members of the family begin to suspect each other, refusing to believe in the existence of the witch. as more people continue to die, the son of one of the families, Battler Ushiromiya, the main protagonist, decides to solve the mysterious murders. From here, the story begins to break into several individual arcs, similar to Higurashi, with Beatrice competing against Battler in a kind of "game" to prove her existence as a witch.

8/10 I rather enjoyed this series. The complex plot and suspense always kept me thinking and wondering what would happen next, and never ceased to surprise me with what did come next. I also enjoyed the many reference to The Divine Trajedy. It had many engaging characters as well, wether they be a main character, or even the "furniture". I do however wish that it wasn't censored (I like me my gore). I would recommend this to anyone that likes suspense, mystery, or anything along those lines.

The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya:

A kind of spinoff series of the popular anime series, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It follows the SOS Brigade on a series of bizzare and humorous side stories with no real relation to anything in particular. Among these are Kyon's New Year's dream, the return of Ryoko Asakura (In a slightly smaller package), a senseless game show put on by Haruhi, and Yuki becoming a hardcore otaku.

9.5/10
This consistently managed to make me burst into laughter and the "stories" were all very interesting, along with the incredibly cute chibified style made for a great way to waste a day. A must see for any hardcore Haruhiist.

Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek
"Who'll play hide and seek with me?"
A chilling tale of a group of children playing a game known as "Otokoyo", a dark version of hide and seek, played against demons. The story follows Hikora, a boy who joined in hopes of finding his missing sister, who disappeared in a previous game of Otokoyo. Not much else can be said without spoiling.

9/10
This movie freaked me the f*** out! An insane thrill-ride of a horror anime. The cgi animation was great, and the demons were creepy as hell. It had a great, however short, story. The only thing that I really disliked about it was that was too short, at about 25 minutes. Definitelly recommend it.
