Hey Everyone, I was just wondering if you guys could give me your opinions on some on my AMVs that I have created in the past. I just want to know if they are any good and some things that I could work on for future AMVs. Also, please don't say the quality sucks and that the subs that show up in some of them are annoying and distract from the video because I am fully aware of this and it is something I am trying to deal with already...

Well I had to write this paper on historical dudes or I would totally fail history class and get sent to Military School.
But I didn't want to do that, I just wanted to rock out with my friend Bill and that's when he said I should take it more seriously. So when we started to figure what to do George Carlin comes out of nowhere and saids "you guys want to go on a totally excellent time traveling journey?" we said "yes" and when I spilt Coke on the Time Machine me and Bill got separated.

So if you see Bill tell him I'm here!

I am actually having fun reading the endless bickering. It amuses me because I have had a bad day as it is and I got a bit of a chuckle out of it. I'm just glad to know that aside from annoying subs and poor visual quality that nothing else seems to be messed up.

Software can be iffy since there is an installation involved, so that should be done on a private level and hopefully you trust the person and the link. Linking to anime is not destructive to ones computer unless you count taking up space.

Maybe to the uneducated who don't know what they are doing and download from some unsafe sites that have crap. I don't recall hearing any stories of people killing their computer as of late downloading from BakaBT or Nyaa, beside are we that kind of people who will not share some knowledge on getting good clean and free source material.

You can turn the subs off. They are called soft subtitles. If the video is an mkv, that means that the subtitles have been saved as a stream separate from the video, in the form of an .srt or .ass file.

Read this guide. (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech31/) It assumes you're going to be using DVDs, but a lot of its info is still good.

After carefully reading that guide, download this codec (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Ut-Video-Codec-Suite). Next, look at this post (http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?26707-The-Lazy-Man-s-Guide-To-AMV-Editing&p=487303#post487303). It gives shortcuts on the process that speed things up and is more relevant to editing with mkvs. Finally, shorten down the template provided to:

If you follow all of these instructions, possess a relatively good computer, and already have a nonlinear editing program installed on your computer such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere (the latter of which I recommend over the former), it should work. If you keep up that attitude you wil survive if not thrive here.

Also ignoring quality issues. (one of which was aspect ratios) The actual content had potential to be decent. I could see conrelation and syncing attempts to the music with the video. However it all felt out of synce, maybe I am seeing stuff that isnt there. Just tighten it up for visuals and the music be more obviously linked.
